Fuzzy Knights: The Tournament Begins!

I for one never saw the Captain's reaction to Mossfoot coming. It's pretty stereotypical for mossy to meet up with his old buddy and they go into a 4 strip-flashback about the good old days, but you never fell into that trap. It was a good strip on the concept of hero-worship and what happens when the illusion is broken. Good read overall.

I'm curious to see what Dog will do in the tourney too. I'm still laughing over the "Eat peasant now?" line.

But what do you THINK is going to happen? I'm curious about your speculation as well :D

Okay, this is what I think is going to happen:

I think Mossfoot and gang are off to a great start at the tournament. They decide to have an early celebration and it is during this time that Mossfoot is inspired to propose marriage to Violet. In their haste, they speed off to find the nearest drive-through chapel when Mossfoot’s recumbent bike breaks down in the rain and they have to run to the nearest residence for cover. It turns out to be HamaEstra’s castle. After Mossfoot and Violet’s departure from the tournament, HamaEstra secretly drugged all the contestants of the Hackmaster Tournament and is having them transported to his castle by the REFs (who actually work for him). The tournament was an excellent opportunity to get all the contestants together to unveil his evil plan.

HamaEstra shows up dressed in women’s clothing. In addition to the contestants being drugged, HamaEstra has hypnotized various members. Ben comes crashing through the wall, wailing on bagpipes. Target becomes a tap-dancing groupie-in-residence. The members of the Legion of Doom turn out to be extraterrestrial agents assigned to planet Earth. Frug has mysteriously gained a hunchback and the FemBunny turns out to be HamaEstra's sister. Dog is actually a monster created by HamaEstra (hence the stitches).

Frogerik Bouchard, who was meditating with the “Force of GMing” in isolation, managed to escape from being drugged and transported to HamaEstra’s castle. He suddenly appears at the castle. He knows that HamaEstra is actually an alien and is intent on turning him in.

HamaEstra than starts to turn his captives to stone, in preparation for a new "experiment" - an All Drag International Hackmaster Tournament - when Frug and the FemBunny reappear in Transylvanian space togs, to wrest control of the mission from HamaEstra.

HamaEstra tries to escape, only to be gunned down by their powerful ray guns. Dog rushes to save his creator, but he, too, is blasted to outer space by the rebels. Mossfoot, Violet and Frogerik are left in a fog. Ben show up with his bagpipes, wails some Scottish blues, and the fog is broken. They return to the tournament and Kitty’s Gang wins the event.

Okay, that was really the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but it could happen...

Thanks! I was hoping for that very effect, actually, and know exactly the kind of cliche you are refering to.

Sometimes cliches work and you should run headlong into them.

Sometimes they don't and you should do the opposite.

Sometimes the opposite is just as cliche and you need to try something original and/or realistic.
