FYI Another D20 Apocalypse Excerpt at WotC

I must admit to being pleasantly surprised at the content of Apocalypse. Granted, a large portion of content useful for this book appears in d20 Future, so there was more room for specifics - and maybe I'm still feeling the unfulfilled promise of d20 Past - but the rules material and the bare bones settings were quite well done.

I also wonder how much Charles Ryan contributed to this book. It's been a while since his name was on a d20 Modern product, no?

Actually, I much like the EARTH INHERITED setting. It would make a nifty blend of fantasy with modern-future, where spellcasters and techno-users could be found side by side.

He had little bits and pieces of rules that he'd been using in his D20 Apocalypse game. That was given to the rest of us designers to work into the book. While his total contribution amounts to probably about 5 (or less) pages and the outline, I can honestly say that without his involvement, it would have been a very different book.

I liked it quite a darn bit. Read it through in one sitting. I haven't done that with a D20 book since......ah, never. Damn entertaining. It tempts me to break my oath of "No D20 for at least a year" i made to myself. ;)

It's a good book. If I wasn't already overloaded, I'd be running some Plague World varient.
