Outstanding

He is describing his experiences while acting as a "player"--a sort of writer-director for a single character--within the popular fantasy role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons. Noe, these are imagination games, that take place arond a tabletop with words--not the sort of role-playing game you might know from the video consoles the kids love!

His character belongs to a fantastical race called the Genasi, a people aligned with the elements of old mysticism! This Genasi is aligned specifically with the element of earth--stone, rock, and dirt, that is! His character also has a "class", which is sort of like a job and an archetype rolled into one! This guy's class is swordmage, a sort of mystical swordsman best understood as similar to a high-fantasy Jedi (warrior-priests from the popular Star Wars films). Each character's level of ability is abstracted as a "level". This specific character--an Earth Genasi swordmage--is level two, which isn't very high (The scale goes up to 30!), but still fairly exciting, as you can see from his story!

I sure do hope this helps! Maybe you'd be interesting in trying a Dungeons & Dragons game, one day!

You, Sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

Although I haven't run into a g-cube yet, I can say without reservation that the Swordmage is by far my favorite 4E class. I really enjoy the versatility that powers like Swordbust, Booming Blade, Lightning Lure, and Flame Cyclone give the character in combat.

I should probably also qualify that statement by pointing out that I have only played two other classes (Paladin and Warlock). The paladin never felt like he had many options despite having the same number of powers. The warlock was fun but I also found it disappointing in comparison to the 3.5 version of the class.

I suppose it's neither here nor there... but you're speakin' Moon Language.

I want to give both you XP! Unfortunately, I apparently already give out to much XP, as each and every day my account eventually tells me that I have given out too much recently.

Perhaps I'll find this thread and give you both some XP before I run out tomorrow!

I still had some to spare, so consider it covered. ;)
