It is a truly extremely creative and very awesome thing he did. Just seeing it makes me pine to run a Elemental Chaos campaign even more now...

It's okay, I keep getting repulsed by the mere thought of the sound of sticking a nail into styrofoam every time anyone moves.

I think Gabe's got a wickedly creative idea here, but it still looks so plain without a coloured background. Lay down a fiery/icy/elemental-y grid map, toss in a few cliffs or terrain features, erect a scenic backdrop, and this could be the battlemap of the year.

Yeah, like most stuff Gabe posts about D&D: Clearly cool, and clearly way out of the league of your Average DM.

Still, clearly, and most importantly, very cool.
