Thank you all for your very kind and generous compliments! We are exceedinly pleased with how the mammoth 576-page book turned out. At a half-million words, it truly a hefty tome well worth $100. The OGL edition (still about 400,000 words) at 496 pages is a steal for $50.

If you still need a preview to push you over the buying edge, check out our meaty 64-page preview at http://www.agameofthronesrpg.com (Sneak Peek button on the right). If you like, you can wander over to our on-line store and place your order: http://www.guardiansorder.com/store/#got

The book should be hitting US stores this week ... just in time for GRRM's A Feast of Crows!

And written by fellow Canadians, no less! :)

I've been pushed over the edge to buying....just need someone who has them in stock in order to purchase.

I just got Feast for Crows on the 9th and saw the RPG in my FLGS (I believe it was the $50 OGL version). I love everything about the Song of Ice and Fire series, and am considering getting the RPG. Has anyone played campaigns with these rules? Any reccomendations or other comments from actual experience? The book does look beautiful, but I don't want to buy it unless I could get some good games out of it. Has anyone started a game in the Westeros campaign world? How's it going?

There are some insightful comments from campaign players over on our message boards (http://www.guardiansorder.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=26).

Well my copy of the signed deluxe edition came in the mail early last week. Finally, after many months of waiting it arrived. Of course, I haven't had a chance to even open it up yet. Sadly I've been out of town since the day before it arrived on a business trip, so it is just sitting at home... waiting... beckoning...

But at least I'm knee deep in a Feast for Crows so I have some solace.

still...cant' wait to get my hands on that book.

I have not played using GoT but I have used similar rules to what they use here in other games. None of the rules in GoT is really radical or problematic.

I couldn't beleive that the one I had wasn't the deluxe edition.

It certainly seemed pretty deluxe:)

This new one must be carved from a solid ruby or engraved on the last Mammoth tusk in the world.

The first edition was pretty swank:)

Well, I guess I meant less the actual ruleset's mechanics and more the overall setting. I.e. how has developing plot material gone, have you been able to generate good storylines away from the novels, how well do the mechanics support the flavor, etc. etc. Just wanted a feel for the game in actual play.

DamionW, it sounds like 'Maester Luwin' (now there's a fan ;)) is running a campaign using AGoT, and they're always pretty happy to pass on info and ancecdotes, that I've seen at least.

They've mentioned that current campaign in this thread.

hth.
