Game Outfitter Experiences

I'm thinking of buying some minis from Game Outfitter, but I'm kinda paranoid. They have good prices but it makes me wonder if they are just another New Wave.

What have been people's experiences with Game Outfitter?

I've never used it, but I have a friend that swears by it. Their pre-orders are a bit sketchy, but he's had good service all around. Unfortunately they are based in Minnesoata so we have to pay sales tax. That kind of sours the deal for us. It's funny you should mention New Wave. By they time I received stuff from them, I had forgotten I had ordered it!

They have a good rep on all the D&D Mini boards.

However, be forwarned that they tend to run out of stock. In the past if you have not pre-ordered very early then you have to wait for the '2nd wave' of product which could be 6-8 wks after the initial release date. If you are wanting Giants of Legend then I would recomend ordering for someone else; but if you are looking to pre-order the next set, Aberrations, then go ahead and do that pre-order.

I have used GameOutfitters twice, for Dragoneye and Archfiends, and had very good experiences. I ordered early, though.

Regarding Archfiends, I checked the GameOutfitter.com web site often, and noted they posted warnings that WotC changed the allocation and that there would be 2 waves. They also froze pre-ordering for a while as a result, until they had a better idea of when the second wave was likely to arrive.

My archfiends pre-order shipped immediately on the street date, and, IIRC, I got it the next day.

I had a good experience with them for Archfiends, even though I was in the second wave.

But, as others have said, if you're going to pre-order, order early.

Many cases and books successfully bought without any problems.

Their very good prices ensure that they run out of stock. Pre-order early if you want something right after initial release.

Happy day! My two cases of GoL will be here on Monday!

Thanks for all the responses. Guess I'm not going to get those GoL packs there, unfortunately. I didn't want to preorder as I worried that there would be some huge delay or problem, so I guess I'm stuck getting them from another source.
