Check out The Gamer's Realm. It is run by Rob Placer, who would more than likely help point you in the right direction (including having some books available on the subject.) You can find out more at the website The Gamer's Realm under the Cranbury, NJ location.

I second that. Rob's a great guy. I think he also has a degree in business administration, and reads the game store owners & publishers boards, so if anyone in the area's up on what it takes to own a successful store, it's Rob. It's also that this is my local gaming store

i checked out the gamer's realm site, but didn't see anything for cranberry...of course I don't know which of those small towns is near it.

can someone tell me which one is which?

actually, West Windsor is the main store. The other store rob just bought recently, last year I believe. email is games@gamersrealm.com, but the store is worth a trip if you're within an hour range, he's got a great setup.
