gamecat's swordmage class, yes or NO

Though, "Nay to the swordmage" sayeth it all, I shall endeavor to elaborate, to debase the addlebrained reasoning behind such folly.

The swordmage presitge class is, indeed, WITHOUT CLASS, due its broken nature and tendencies to overpower your lowly foes.

What, then, is the true agenda behind such rulings? For what is the point of engaging in challenging play, when all such challenge has been removed?

One wonders.
One ponders.

Is Gamecat afraid of challenge?

Will Gamecat only engage in "challenging" play when there is only an illusion of challenge?

But, Yea, I toss the gauntlet!

Gamecat, will you play against a TeddyBear? For a TeddyBear is the ultimate illusionary foe. A bear, yes. But diminutive. Cute. But is it still deadly?

I shall leave you with this final thought:

Feeding the trolls...

My dearest Xanthippywip, I am usually above the aforementioned troll nourishment, but as I am so apt to be quoted:

Originally smarted off by gamecat

Few things are as satisfying as sinking to someone else's level.

Let the TrollTown Buffet begin.

Afraid of challenge? Scared of altercation? Skittish of conflict? Fearful of clash? Please! I desire to bring a game of both tactical possibilites as well as the mind expanding benefits contained therein of drama-king style roleplaying.

A game of low power? I stand ready, Mr. S. Give a game and good people to play with, and I'll play.

Ah, dear Gamecat, got your attention, have I?

Careful with your typing lest you make an error like your DM strategies. Did you really mean to write "Xanthippewip" or did you mean "XanthippeWIMP." The latter offends me, if this were your true intention. As for the former, well, thank you!

And so you defend your play? Why? Give me details. For they have escaped me.

H.

Oh feared one, adding "-wip" or "-ickiwick" is a habit of mine. Name the novel and score bonus points.

First, my game's power level is psychotic. This I know. But the PCs are jacked up. The monsters are off the charts. Same game, bigger numbers. Over the years, dear harasser, this power spiral has gone down, but it's still huge. I tend toward not giving as much magic treasure, making characters/npcs with better class abilities to compensate. People, not toys, do things. That's cool. A character running up a wall, flipping back and stabbing a longtime rival is cool. Turning on wings of flying and doing the same, well, isn't.

Less treasure, more class abilities.

I like to have big numbers. Maybe I'm compensating for something. Hopefully not. :D

Is this some kind of personal dispute? I have no idea what the problem is here. Wouldn't this be better handled via e-mail? I'm not nagging, just wondering.

Does someone want to enlighten me on the source of this so I know if this thread should be moved to an appropriate forum, like, say, House Rules?
