AASU SciFi & Fantasy Club in Savannah hosts 2 gaming sessions each week
The Wedsday session will be starting soon and will feature a rotating game, starting with either cyberpunk or Darkages.
I am the GM for the Thursday D20/D&D game which has been running since July. We meet weekly at the Cafeteria at 5 and play from 5:30 until.
The current champain is QuaziQuest (-.04). The requirements for playing is showing up with a sense of humor.
The house rules for PC creation are : arrive at game with a 3.0, 3.5, or D20 modern starting character (keep in mind medival tech) with 1 extra starting feat, either rolled up or standard point buy, monster races allowed with gm approval (we already have a menotaur). Everquest races allowed, but only "Raised in D&Dland since Infant".
(we have a froglock monk. It rained frogs at the monastery)(later in the game we may wonder into EQland, but for rightnow D&D3.5 Magic only)(if you want to play eastern you have to loan me the books)
or
Show up with out a character in mid session, and be told to make one to suit GM whim (You are a Dwarven Bard with StageFright)(the player chose the Bagpipes!)
Or
Show up with out a character before game starts, and I give you a pregened character (A level one ranger with multishot who never talks, a pacifist cleric, a goblin go between, a 5th level wizard with dyslexia.....). Usually it is someone more macho than possible for 1st level with a balancing drawback or roleplay challange.
The champaign style is a bit comedic, but we will be trying to move toward more serious as the players level up a bit on the "silly introductory mission".
They are currently on a "Magnificent 7" senerio (The 7 Samuri? The 3 amigos? sigh...A bugs life?...Ok you know that one). After meeting in a forest fire, surviving a early moring robbery at the tavern, surviving being mistaken for the robbers by the tavren staff (1/2 ogre bouncer, gnoll fry cook, lake troll fisherman), encountering a sleeping dragon in the middle of the road (slayed with the help of a bag of sheep dip), picking up a new PC at a goblin swap meet, killing a giant spider in the gaint snake cave, getting run off the road by the luxodon, killing the rouge male pushmepullyou, slaying the abomidiable snowman (frosty, not yeti), getting arrested for pushmepullyou poaching , avoiding fighting the flock of greater canarys (cave big birds) , .....they have finally made it to the villiage of quaziMormon, polyanderous, halfling rice framers in the Desert of the 2 Suns, and have begun training the framers to fight and building defences.
