Buttercup said:I have two. Well, one is more of a really long shawl, I suppose, because it's knit out of grey wool. The other one though, is an honest to god cloak, complete with hood. I've had it for about 15 years. It's getting a tad worn, but I love it. I wear it regularly during the fall and even the winter if it isn't too cold.
I also have several cloaks. A long wool green one of army blankets, one red cotton one that goes down to my knees, and a purple one that I made out of what used to be the stage curtain in the gym/theatre of my University. (It used to be a stage curtain, now, it's a whole lotta cloaks, breeches, and vests.)
Generally I will only wear one of these "outside" of Faire or Halloween if I'm VERY cold and they're the only warm thing I happen to have handy.
I live in Southern California, so that has happened about twice.
I was once out with my, then, boyfriend at Knott's Berry Farm, night came and I got cold... The purple cloak was the only thing I had in my car at the time.
Then there was another time, I was at work, it was (what passes in California for) winter, and they had the friggin' air on. (Which probably explains why it was broken by the time summer rolled around.
