Gamers: Unusual Uses for Non-Gaming Items

I use a backpack and laptop carrying case to lug books around. And I have my dice in a plastic ziploc food container. Of course my computer gets used for various purposes.

I keep my d6's in a small, yellow-transparent plastic constainer that formerly held...

POKEMON BUBBLE GUM! :D

It is by far the coolest gaming item one can own.

I have a travel chess set which I use as a small-scale battlemat. The pieces become makeshift counters and the board itself becomes the battleground.

I also have an animal chess set* which I use for animal counters.

*For those not familiar with animal chess, it's a children's game where each side has eight pieces: a rat, a cat, a dog, a wolf, a leopard, a tiger, a lion and an elephant. A piece can take any piece of equal or lower value on the opposing side, but cannot take a piece of higher value. The only exception is, a rat can take an elephant. There are two lakes on the board. The lion and tiger can jump across the lake, and the elephant and rat can swim across. All other pieces have to take the long way round.

We use Lego people for PC miniatures
Hot dang. I knew there was a reason I kept all my old Legos.

There is no freakin' way I can restrain myself now from building Lego diaramas (sp?) of every encounter I plan.

Consider this so stolen!

For years I used to keep my dice in a felt tobacco pouch that was my grandfathers but I retired it before it fell apart and now I use my cool bags that Paladin makes at Gamers Bag.

As for props and things I have made old scrolls, locked boxes, (trapped locked boxes), small scenes for minis with paper, sissors and tape, old smokey oil lamps.
If I ever play outside at night I am gonna make everyone make torches to see by. :D

I use a kangaroo... umm.. I'll put it to you this way, it has no seams.

Hey, I have one of those too, courtesy of an uncle in Australia with a sick sense of humour! Only it's too small to keep dice in, as the donor was not very well-endowed. I suppose one could stretch it like leather, but that just gives me shivers whenever I contemplate it.
