Games that are more fun to read than to play

Ars Magica
Dragon Warriors

Mythic Europe and Legend are two great settings but the systems leave a little to be desired imo. Even though I never play them I still routinely read these books for inspiration and flavour.

A game which I loved to read, but sadly was pretty impossible to run adventures in (because as a campaign setting there was no drama, no secrets, no hooks) was Skyrealms of Jorune GROGNARDIA: Retrospective: Skyrealms of Jorune
This is one of the systems I acquired just to add it to my collection of 'odd' rpgs (stuff like Over the Edge, Amber, and Aria). What first got me interested was the computer game. It's utterly weird and you don't understand anything in the beginning until you've memorized the most important terms from the glossary. I really enjoyed the art, though.
