[Games Workshop] Another Price Raise!?

Not sure if anyone saw, but on GWs website they are doing another price raise. I haven't played any GW games in ages, but their annual prices raises are insane. Does any other company in the industry do an annual price raise like GW?

No, but they can continue to do so because of fanboy loyalty....

There are some equally useable figs and large scal mini rules out there, but GW just keeps rolling along. (Their HQ is just up the road fromhere and buisness is not faultering much.)

No kidding. Additionally, every time I hear news like this, it reminds me how much more cost effective RPGs are than wargaming (as a hobby pursuit). It stops those infrequent urges to get back into wargaming dead in their tracks.

I blew several hundred dollars on 40K, and haven't even played in 3 years! I've actually been starting to think about getting back into it recently, as I really do enjoy tactics and wragaming. Thanks for reminding me why I quit.

I was considering playing 40k, but not after this. Too big of a wallet/time sucker.

Hand me my d20 instead.

As long as they keep the Warhammer rpg books at the same price I am not concerned. I use Reaper or Rackham miniatures for gaming. However, if the rpg books also raise, it couldn't make me turn to d20.

The look of the Tau got me interested in playing WARHAMMER:40000 again (played back in the days of the 1st edition ROGUE TRADER rulebook, with a small Ork regiment).

Anyway, I thought "well, if nothing else I'll have some cool SF models and minis for my SF RPG games"...

aaand that's about all I have.

Then DAWN OF WAR and its sequel came out, I bought those, and now I ring up my friends when I wanna have a 40k bash and we do it over the 'net. No muss, no fuss.

I left GW products behind me in 1998 - and my wallet has never been happier. I went into the GW store near my workplace a few weeks ago and I could not believe the prices they are asking for a single pewter mini. $22 CAN?! Are you out of your mind?
