Gaming Cruise

Hold on a second.... since when do cruise ships have windowless basements? I can't game in a bright sunny boardroom. Not when there's shuffleboard to be played....

Besides, I will not pay $600 just to have someone serve me cheetos and mountain dew for a week. Actually, I take that back. They just better have lots of Dew aboard.....

I think it's a great idea - personally I'd like to be able to game half the day and spend the other half enjoying the ship or seeing the sights.

while such a thing sounds excessively cool, i am excessively broke in regards to affording it. ;)

just don't do any gaming in the open air!

I thought the one out of houston was for 5 days by ice? the one out of florida us for 7 days... i thought maybe the florida people were a franchise or something.. Im going on the one from florida but... well.. i really like the band collide, so cruising with them for 7 days sounds awesome.. so does a toga party gothic style.... hehehehehe days at sea? this 7 night one only had 2.. anyone know how many days there are at sea with the one out of houston? and does it go everyyear? the one out of florida is doin this introduction thing to vampire requiem im lucky though cuz my girlfriend is a vampire freak'o and she's goth.. so neither of us would be bored does anyway know what the non con events are on the 5 night from houston?

Hmm, this would be cool with more d20 stuff on board. If you haven't taken a cruise before, they're cool. Complete gym on board. Nightly entertainment. Great food. And that'd just to start. They can be quite expensive though if you want to do the excursion thing. I think most boats have a casino on board as well.

As for the gaming, if I went on a cruise I'd have to take my wife and daughter (7 month). Its a sure bet that my wife would NOT let me game all that much on this cruise so that's the deal-breaker for me (my wife's not a gamer).

Funny. . . I'm going on a Caribbean cruise in a couple of weekes, and I was just wishing that I could have some organised play on board. Hmmm. . . truly a wonderous marriage of gaming and travel. . . .SWEEEEET.

The more I think of this, the more I think it would be a no-go for me. My wife would never go on a cruise knowing that I was going to be gaming more than half of the time. :(

Though... what *might* work is a traditional cruise that a bunch of ENWorld folks just happen to be on board, and the wives can hang out, while the rest of us do some casual gaming. My wife would totally play any Chez Geek, though. She's really good at that game.

Hey, if ENWorld can pull off the many Game Days, surely we can pull off a Game Cruise?

Hey Die_Kluge
the cruise im already booked for next year wont have so much gaming. its gonna have requiem basics though which is from WoD.. however judging from the cruise lines website, they have childcare stuff. my big thing was the collide concert and autograph session. my girl likes the gothic toga party and that masquerade ball. i know they have a casino cuz its on the website. sides, its 7 nights of no work and all play heheeheh but we both table top and larp, so it should work out fine.
