Gaming Stores north of Boston

Hold on a minute!

Don't leave for NH just yet.

There are two game stores in MA north of Boston that I frequent. One is the Red Lion Smoke Shop in Salem, MA. In addition to cigars, magazines, and ultra-cool and sundry collectables, they have a sizable game collection in the back row. Everything from D20 to Gurps to Call of Cthulhu to Pendragon.

The other is the Toy Soldier in Amesbury, MA. They've got lots of D20, Gurps and some White Wolf, they stock boardgames and wargames, and they stock a ton of miniatures of all types, from fantasy to WWII.

I believe there's also a store in Chelmsford, MA -- Three Trolls Games. I haven't been there myself though.

The Hobby Bunker in Malden is well worth checking out. They have a good (if somewhat haphzard) selection of RPGs, including most WotC material, and have a great selection of miniatures, terrain (including Dwarven Forge), and other hobby supplies.

Hobby Bunker Inc
33 Exchange St, Malden, MA 02148
Phone: (781)321-8855

That's in Malden Center, underneath CVS if I remember correctly.

I also agree that it might be worth going just making the occasional trip into Boston. Pandemonium and Your Move Games are both conveniently located on the Red Line, Complete Stragegist on the Green Finally, in Waltham there's Danger Planet, on Spruce off Moody St.

If you are going to shoot all the way up to NH, I'll second the recommendation for Wizard's Tower in Nashua. Great store.

Wizard's Tower in Nashua, followed by Pandemonium in Harvard Square and Compleat Strategist, downtown Boston.

I'm in Massachusetts relatively often, since most of my family lives in the Peabody/Danvers area and I must second Toy Soldier in Amesbury. Haven't been there in a little while, but it's good to see that it's still open. I used to play D&D with my uncle up in Newburyport every now and then, that's why I know of the place

I grew up in Peabody and went to high school in Danvers. As a young gamer, I had to go into Boston to Games People Play and the Strat to find a decent selection.

Hey! Someone who knows how to pronounce Peabody! (I cringe every time I hear Pea-BODY).

I went to South Memorial for 5th grade as well as many summers spent there (foreign service brat).

I have to recommend Hobby Bunker as another poster already mentioned. I no longer live in the area, but still find myself making a trek there.

The two stores I go to in NH have already been mentioned (Games Castle in Londonderry and Wizard's Tower in Nashua). Both stores have been really good to me. They've happily ordered something for me when asked if it wasn't on the shelves.

I know it's not really north, but there's a great store in Worcester called That's Entertainment. They're on Park Ave, and while the parking around there isn't great, you can do worse for comics and gaming. I did business with them for about 20 years before I moved and they were too far away to visit regularly.
