Hey! Someone who knows how to pronounce Peabody! (I cringe every time I hear Pea-BODY).

I went to South Memorial for 5th grade as well as many summers spent there (foreign service brat).

That's freaky. I went to South Memorial K through 7th Grade. And yeah, no one outside MA pronounces Peabody right!

Ahh, Games People Play: where you get a free snotty attitude with every overpriced board game! :D

Well, it's changed a lot in 20 years. In the early 80s they had a really good selection of RPGs and minis. That's where I bought my first issue of White Dwarf (#20) and my copies of Melee and Wizard. Now, they seem quite focussed on the fancy boardgames and chess sets.

I didn't mean to poop on fond memories, Chris. I've just had some less-than-stellar customer service there; I've no idea if that's indicative of how the store is normally run.

Give me a holler next time you're out this way, and I'll buy you a beer. :)

I haven't been to Games People Play since I moved out of Boston a couple years ago, but the few times I went there between '98 and '01, my experiences were the same: they were disinterested, even disdainful.

The only thing that kept me coming back was that they still had a decent selection of old SPI games kicking around. I assumed that their attitude toward me was because I was only interested in stuff they were treating like old junk. (Though they still priced it all pretty high.)

Dude, that's nothing. Nobody in MA pronounces Haverhill (HAY-vrul, fyi) right. :\

So, is Myriad Games worth checking out? Their site suggests a WOTC solamente style.
