I have never looked around in this forum and am I glad that I did!

This thread has made my day.

Bruce, you said
I'll have some goodies to share in a couple of weeks.

Where will this show up? The s&s site, your site, here?

Also, has there been any thought on developing some miniatures for some of the more typical critters, races, and robots?

MINIS! MINIS! MINIS!
I've still got my original Gamma Minis from waay back but I'd love to see some new ones!
Most of my miniature purchases over the years have revolved around wether or not the mini could be used in Gamma World.
A few lines do work nicely : Void, Street Violence, Necromunda, Shockforce (if you can find them).
Regards,
Brutorz Bill

WOW! I just got a chance to catch up on this thread! Thanks Bruce! I hope that even if miniatures are not possible we can get "offical" cut-outs like Dragon prints from time to time!

Thanks Again!! :)

Hey Bruce,

Any info/rules/etc. on barter and trade? Given the nature of your standard Gamma World setting, barter could be nigh-mandatory; OTOH, you could just slot in domars and be done with it. I'm curious to see what y'all are doing with the topic, though.

(This question brought to you by recent discussion on a Midnight email list, of all things.)

Minis are really expensive in the volume that Gamma World figures would sell, alas - not a good return on investment. Cool cardboard figures would be a possibility, though don't count on it.

We're using the d20M wealth system, because it works pretty well (once you fool with starting prices) and because anything satisfying to my standards and more detailed would become nightmarishly complex.

Doh :(

Yep - d'oh!

I was kinda hoping to see domars and gold pieces again, as I'm not a big fan of the "wealth system" in d20M (too abstract for this gamer's taste). But, on the positive side it shouldn't be too hard to use the equipment/wealth tables from previous editions in GW6...

couldn't agree more, wealth in modern is the simplistic half hearted approach to a monetary system and buying/selling of goods and not one that works particularly well in my opinion (though im sure it has its fans).

It isn't all that difficult to implement some rules for a barter system, or include a few tables with relative values of items. Enough to allow a proper usage of currency or barter.

Little disappointed to see thats the route being taken as it will mean I have to spend time myself working up tables and so forth once I buy the book :S
