Gamma World for D20 Modern

This is good news! I remember having a lot of fun with Gamma World, including a humorous tour I had a friend's character go through in the ruins of TSR. (A sleeth was busy trying to figure out the purpose of a can of dice was one of the adventure's humorous highlights.)

I wonder what else is coming back, or should come back. ? If you have nay thoughts, you might want to check out my thread : Gamma World to Return -- What Else Should Come Back at http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30552

Time for a few more wild adventures among the ruins. SSS-Druid, will the book have any recommended reading such as was found in some of the earlier editions. I actually tracked down an Andre Norton novel referred to in a previous edition. A few films would also be good sources to inspire players and GMs.

Also, maybe there should be expansions for different parts of the world. (Something Gamma World never really touched on, though I seem to remember an old Dragon article about Japanese soldiers in suspended animation and mecha.)

Well, here's to good gaming in Gamma World!!!

Rest assured, Gamma World is in good hands. My conversations with Bruce Baugh have indicated that he is more than well aware of what Gamma World's root are, and his vision for where it can go is just spectacular.

I absolutely can't wait to see this one, myself.
So what's going to happen to Omega World?

I have played and run Gamma world campaigns that lasted over a year or so. So it is possible for long term games. I started a D20 version for fun, kind of converting as I went but it was a blast for my players weird and wonderful all at once. I know they would love to return to it which I will do if I get a new Version of Gamma world. I think the important thing is Gamma world is quirky fun and does not have to be balanced for it to be fun. I know I'll volunteer to play test if they'll have me.

Buzz, why not take a look at the thread in D20 Publishers? Bruce Baugh is responding in that thread:

I like a lot of the stuff Bruce (hope he doesn;t mind me calling him Bruce) has been associated with, especially Delta Green and Feng Shui... I like this listing of his work better than the RPG United one...

I, for one, am looking forward to what they will do with Gamma World...

Oh, I don't know. Continued life in the fan community? I'm a cheap SOB, so I don't view affordable mini-games as one-shots. :D

So. let me phrase my question this way.

Why do you expect other publishers or consumers to care about your preferences or past buying habits? Why should anybody activly endorse or subsidize fan efforts? etc, etc...

Gee, you make it sound like my money is no good.

I think what he was saying that what little you spend is good. :D

I looked at some of Bruce Baugh's works this week. Looks like we something to really look forward to!

Later!
