D&D 4E Gamma World Ideas for D&D 4E

First Post
I finally looked at the Gamma World rules and I must say that I really like these two rules.

add the level of the player character to the damage player characters do to non-player characters
add twice the level to the damage for greater powers

It makes the game go faster.
It makes having to recalculate the hit points for every npc unnecessary.

I really like how well written the new Gamma World rule book is. It isn't redundant in the least, it doesn't have redundant powers. It explains everything as if I didn't know anything about RPG's.

Love it. All D&D products should go the Gamma World route.

I think I agree.

Gamma World also does more to expose the math behind D&D. All the various stat increases, magic items, half level bonuses, feats, class features, etc., all amount to the equivalent of +1 per level.

The primary stat of 18 and secondary of 16 also points to D&D based rules essentially have an "I'm awesome" stat You can see more of this in the Dark Sun campaign setting where powers explicitly state to use your "primary stat."
