Gargantuan Miniatures?

Yup, Shaylon's right. Chewbacca was driving the AT-ST. Imperial Walker's codeman actually are AT-AT's. Sort of scared that i knew that.

Actually, the AT-AT IS the imperial walker - the "Battletech locust" thing in Return of the Jedi is an AT-ST.

There's even a SMALLER device called an AT-PT, but those were used during the era of the old republic, and were the precursors to the AT-ST's and AT-AT's.

It is, indeed, pathetic, that I know this, and can't tell a car starter from an oil pan. :D

Huge minis have a 3-square diameter base.
Gargantuan minis would have a 4-square diameter base.
Colossal minis would have a 6-square diameter base.
Luke's snowspeeder could be considered size Huge.
Luke's snowspeeder was wholly crushed by a single foot of the AT-AT.
Therefore, a single foot of the AT-AT should be at least 2-square diameter.

Conclusion, an AT-AT would be Colossal, and would in fact be a bit undersized. I think it would require a 9-square base, personally.

Or slightly smaller than the AT-AT toy I used to have as a kid.... Damn... I should have kept that

And somewhere in between there's the AT-MT, a many-legged vehicle designed for mountain travel. :)

AT-PT appeared in novel form in the "lost fleet" of old republic dreadnaughts. Can't remember the novel name, but that should at least make Henry and Narfellus feel better.

AT-MT appeared in one of the "children of the jedi" novels, a remaining splinter of the Empire was trying to chase down Leia and her kids on a mountanous world.

Actually, the LEGO AT-AT works quite well as far as scaling for this.

Not that I'm planning to use mine in my upcoming Star Wars game or anything... ;)

ACTUALLY, the AT-MT first appeared in the Jedi Academy novels.

And I just pulled out my rulebook, the AT-AT is Collosal, measuring in at 20.6m.

Oh, and if you want to keep going on about walker types, I can throw in the AT-TE, which was the heavy walker the Clone Army uses. And there's a new Scout Walker, smaller than the AT-ST and operated by a single Clone that will appear in Ep III. :)

I use T'Char as a gargantuan silver/white. He fits nicely on a 4" base and is about the same size as the new McFarlane dragons.

I have 2 other metal figs in this size range. Plus Red Dragon of Set (McFarlane Conan #1) is a good size for a gargantuan linnorm dragon).

Colossal is pretty big for metal. I use the Knights of Tir Na Nog toy as Colossal Red (only Red, Silver, and Gold reach colossal).

It's too bad the first gargantuan/colossal figs will be dragons but they are the most in demand. They are also some of the easiest to find in the toy or metal arena.

Still looking for a solid Purple Worm/Nightcrawler/Neothellid type.
