Gaseous Form and Max Dex Bonus

Hey, everyone. Something came up in a game several months ago that I was wondering about lately... we came up with a ruling on it, but I figured I'd see if there was an official ruling somewhere.

Let's say you have a dexterity of 16 (+3) and you're wearing Full Plate (max dex bonus of +1). Then let's say you drink a potion of gaseous form. Your armor is no longer substantial, so you don't get the armor bonus (+8, unless it's enchanted). But what about the max dex bonus? Is it still restricted? Or do you gain the full +3 while in gaseous form?

The spell says Dexterity still applies to your AC while in gaseous form, while armor is useless. Based on this, the max Dex should not apply while in gaseous form. Also, even if the armor is magically enhanced, the enhancement bonus would not apply either because it enhances your armor. Full plate +2 gives you a +10 armor bonus to your AC, not a +8 armor bonus and a +2 enhancement bonus.
