Has anyone else noticed that there is all of a sudden several books on making the GMs job easier?

Toolbox
World Builder (aka 1001 ways to be more descriptive in a fantasy setting)
Dungeoncraft
NPC essentials.

I actually plan on buying all of these....

I mean yeah, there are some that are sort of general idea books like some of the AEG stuff, (WAR and others) , but these are things that actually help with running the game and putting on a better presentation. I hope this trend continues. (to a point, as I am poor).

Would books on how to be a better player be just as welcome?
I think they would.

dont know how useful 'player-oriented' books would be. The great thjing abou the books you mention (and they look great), is that it takes some of the load off GM's who, frankly, often have a helluva lot of work to do.

players? possibly, but what assistance would you give them? the advice has to be broad enough to cover the enourmous variety of games and GMing styles.....

(of course, a book with the following sections could be useful....)

1.1 Duck and Cover - recognizing 'that' look in your GM's eye.
1.2 "She'll Only Stop Three Points" - how to ensure that its your fellow players that get killed - not you.
1.3. Creative Haiku - well, why not?
etc...
:D

1.5 : The Will and the Way - getting the Feats and PrC's you want without getting the GM to pop some caps.

-edit... durrr. cant spell....

good call. I've been drooling over your free pdf today. yummy goodness.

(and might I compliment you on your swift pimping of your product)

1.6 We Go East! Surviving the dungeonbash campaign.

It isn't D&D much less 3e, but check out Talsorian (sp?) Game's Listen Up, You Primitive Screwheads!. Excellent for the cyberpunk genre and a good book in general.

How about a player aid that would be things like stuff an adventurer would know about monsters. For example no game stats but more ecyclopedic entries.

A book of party tactics, to help the players coordinate in battle.

A book of character buildling that doesnt reduce the entire process of writting a background to a table generation system.
