Joe,

You have me drooling over your book. It will definately be on my purchase list....very cool stuff.

You plan on having it be a print version as well or just pdf?

Excellent. We'll do both. The PDF should be up in a week. I'm looking over it now to try and cull the stray typos. Personally, its the best book i've ever written. And that's not just shooting smoke... :)

Tell your friends, tell the world. Its all OGC as well, so i'd love to see some other companies pick it up and use the information. If something like bluffsides or freeport use it, that would be awesome.

The prints going to take a while longer. I'm a brand new publishers and i've apparantly underestimated the amount of time it will take. Trying to make the end of march, but i may have to push it back. Oh well.... hate to break my word, but distributors and all need to make their money as well as i do and perhaps it will sell more with the PDF exposure.

either way, back to your previously scheduled thread...

NARF!

It isn't D&D much less 3e, but check out Talsorian (sp?) Game's Listen Up, You Primitive Screwheads!. Excellent for the cyberpunk genre and a good book in general.

I still think that is one of the best books on GMing ever. I have it love it and use it. But I like the fact that a lot of the new stuff coming out is "Top of Head" resource material, meaning it helps you wing it more easily.

you mean like *hack* the Hero Builders Guidebook *hack*

BG - good call with listen up... great book for GM's everywhere.

I think a book that greatly expands on the "lifepath" idea would be golden. In fact I actually have an idea for such a thing.

FWIW, I'll throw in my "quick and easy" formula for City Wealth and GP Limit - which DOESN'T break down at higher population levels (the "35 billion chickens problem").

It's a sidebar-like item available in my PDF, the Enchiridion of Treasures and Objects d'Art, but I'll just toss the formula out here.

City Wealth = P * [ {log(P)/log(4)} - 0.161 ] where P is the city's population.

GP Limit = 1/10th City Wealth

Simple, yet elegant. :) Here's the sample results:

Population Total Cash on Hand
20 40 gp
50 133 gp
100 316 gp
200 732 gp
500 2,161 gp
1,000 4,822 gp
2,000 10,644 gp
5,000 29,914 gp
10,000 64,829 gp
20,000 139,657 gp
50,000 382,191 gp
100,000 814,382 gp
