I'm amazed that a kilt would garner attention, in amongst the Klingons, Stormtroopers, vampires, and elves.

I hadn't thought of it before, but it is odd on the face of it. I definitely notice people wearing kilts more than I do the other stuff.

I think it has to do that a kilt at GenCon is an obvious affectation (yes, even on a Scot) ... the other get-ups are clearly "costumes."

Except this year I am hoping to game with some ENWorlders. I am not much of an alcohol drinker, so the party, especially when everyone is getting wasted, isn't very appealing to me.

Plus at least one of my kids will be with me again this year, maybe all 3. I don't keep them blind to the realities of people drinking and getting drunk, but seeing people under those circumstances isn't why I, or my kids, are there.

Canadiana Suite will host two events- one will be the usual boozarama insanity.
T'other will be a "dry" night, all games to be PG13.

Many (most?) gamers with odor issues come ripe to begin with, as they don't have good hygene habits anyway. Its the accumulation of concentrated reak in one enclosed building for an extended period ... well that's my observation.

Maybe they could get Mennen to sponsor part of the Con. I have heard that people go and end up sleeping in their cars. That sure can lead to a lack of hygiene.
