GENCON 2008 - Who's Going?

I'm most likely to run Dread, MnM or both.
At the same time? The part of my brain that wants to say, "That sounds like a bad idea," is getting drowned out by the rest of my brain shrieking, "THAT'S THE BEST IDEA EVER!!!!"

I'm just saying.

I'm currently trying to convince myself a 2008 Gencon tripleshot (Australia, Indy, UK) is a bad idea.

Heh. Don't know if you remember or not, but we were playing in Belen's post-apoc game last GenCon. I caught your real name but not your screen name. After the game I was in the dealer's hall at the Iron Heroes booth, and talking with one of the guys about how I was intrigued by IH but had never gotten to play it, and that I thought that Capellan guy was doing wonderful job supporting it and interacting with the fans.

Later that afternoon, I found out who I'd been sitting next to!

I can just see Batman and Robin getting into a pull-duel when Robin gets tired of being Batman's bitch.

Obviously, this would require Four-Colour Jenga!

Hey, I was in on that game too.

The Danger Girls will return in 2008 in their latest adventure - Danger Girl: Bat Out Of Hell. I've had the plot for this particular adventure swimming around my brain for a looooong time. I look forward to getting to run it.

I'll be there!

I'll be there as usual; I'll probably get in around Saturday or Sunday.

Just to remind some of the Gen Con newcomers, Wnworld is great, but we do have a specific Gen Con forum over at community.gencon.com. Feel free to come over, and ask questions; it's a slow time now, so people are just itching for reasons to talk about Gen Con, and questions would be most welcome. We also have some FAQs you can check out.

Also wanted to specifically point out to some of you that seemed concerned that you wife wouldn't let you go to Gen Con, or didn't want you to, that this year will be the third year Gen Con has a SPA program; primarily designed for nongamers, and with a decided slant towards female nongamers AND gamers alike; last year we had knitting, jewelry making, crochet, wine tasting, irish dance classes, yoga; and lots of great stuff, and this year is looking to be even better; we'll have even more programming, and hopefully an open crafting room; so perhaps that could entice some spouses to come. We also had a nursing room tucked away for those who needed it last year, and hopefully we'll have that again next year. Just trying to make Gen Con super family friendly!

If anyone has questions about Gen Con, specifically the forums or the SPA program, please don't hesitate to email me at marimacc (at) gmail.com. Thanks! See you at Gen Con!

Very cool, is there anything to do for young children (elementary school age)?

There's a lot for young kids to do. Demoing kid's games, going to see the costume contest, speed painting, and much more. You've gotta remember, it's the best four days in GAMING... not just table-top RPGs. And GAMES are for everyone!

The husband and I don't have kids yet, but - when we do - we will happily bring them to GenCon with us. It's a very family-friendly place (so long as you teach them to avert their eyes when a scantily clad booth babe crosses your path! ;) ).
