GENCON 2008 - Who's Going?

I'll be there again this year, after investigating origins and dragoncon neither really excited me. But I don't plan on doing too many setup events. Until they finish the convention center, expect to walk many blocks to get to where you need to go. Instead I'll probably run a couple of events with a group and do more homebrew stuff.

What day is everyone going up this year? I was thinking of going up Tuesday this year, instead of the normal Wednesday.
If I go, I'll be arriving early and leaving late. It's a bloody long flight!

On an interesting side note, it seems that there will be a GenCon in Australia next year for the first time. It's in Brisbane. If it was in Melbourne I might have thought about it but Brisbane is a little too hard to justify the travel to the wife!
Finally! A reason to be happy I live in Brisbane! ;)

And our own Arwink (Peter Ball) is head coordinator for GenCon Australia games, as well as the on-site booklet. He's going to be a busy, busy man.

Due to us not being in the military any longer and Hawaii being darned expensive without all those nice military perks (like free health care and grocery shopping at the commissary), we might have to move from Hawaii to the property we own. :(

In Indiana. Twenty minutes from downtown Indy! :)

There is a silver lining to every cloud! If we move, maybe we'll both get to go to GenCon. Yay!

Does this mean you'll be doing True Dungeon with us in 2008? Because I'd like that very much! :D

The Universe and I are planning on arriving Wednesday in the late morning/early afternoon. Like last year, we are going to drive. We'll do the first half post-work on Tuesday evening (4.5-5 hours) and the second half on Wednesday morning. HOWEVER, unlike last year, we will both be taking the Monday after GenCon off. So we'll either do the whole drive on Monday or take off and drive a few hours on Sunday night.

Either way, it'll be better than getting home at 5am and then getting up to go work work at 6am. Yuck.
