Not sure if I am going this year. Probably. But it's not for sure yet.
May well end up working in the dealer room at GenCon again this year too. It has its moments (and reduces the cost, to be sure) but well... it's a lot more like work and a lot less like a vacation. Not much doubt of that.
I'll book a room and see how the matter shapes up as the year progresses.
For those who will be in town on Wednesday the Kentucky Fried Gamers will be running Wednesday Gaming this year in two locations, at the Ram and in one of the hotels. Sign up for these games will be via the Gen Con forums AFTER normal event registration has taken place. I'll post more here when I have info. FDG will be sponsoring Wednesday gaming with swag and prizes.
We have a fixed date. The movers come to pack us out late January. So, yeah. We're leaving Hawaii for the Indy area. :\ In the dead of frickin' winter.
But, yay! We're moving into that old, old church that we bought back in '06 and we finally get to start construction converting it into a home for ourselves! And we're 20 minutes from family and 20 minutes from downtown Indy!
I'm a mix of sad and stoked all at the same time. It's been almost ten years since I got to live on the mainland U.S.. If we have any sort of substantive employment at all come May or June and our "house" isn't eating us alive, I will lobby and lobby hard for us to go check out GenCon.
