Gencon 2010?

To the best of my knowledge there is no ticket required for the ENnies. First come first seated but that's rarely been a problem in the past (2007 was standing room only but that was a snafu where they took away half our space at the last minute).

If it happens to be in the Indiana Roof Ballroom again, don't miss it. It's worth going there for the ambiance alone.

If you win one of the ENnies auctions, they save you a seat and you sit with the publisher and/or writer of the prize(s) you win from the auction.

Personally I'd like to get together with all the people I've disagreed with about rules, and systems on enworld, and play a couple of games... then go somewhere and have a beer or something. :P

No children of ours with which to be concerned. And Rozanne was the toaster . . . TWICE!

Count us in, Mark! And some kind of board games at the picnic on Sunday.

That's right, she is the Double-Toaster, isn't she? (Two sixes make a Twelve!) I've kept Sunday free this year for boardgaming, rather than scheduling events to run like I did last year. I have a blast running the games but I am doing that just on Thursday through Saturday this time around. I'll be running Lurch: Zombie Chess each morning from 10am - Noon and some Medieval Fantasy Combat Miniatures Games from 1pm - 4pm each of those three afternoons. Lurch has been accepted but there's some hold up on the other three, even though they were very popular last year. If they don't make the schedule, I'll run at least one or two of the scenarios off the grid and just for friends.

Note to self: Disagree with Scribble before Gen Con. ;)

Badge purchased, hotel reserved and rarin' to go. I wonder if my hotel is open yet? (Scheduled for this month, part of the new DT Marriott Plaza). Staying DT this year so the GF can nap or relax in the pool/sauna when she wants and I can stay out as late as I want.

My suggestion for first time visit: Give yourself a day for the dealer room. It really is that big and there's lots of games to demo. This year I want to play a couple of LFR games and have a large contingent of local friends going but want to either play or run a couple of other games.

Badge and lodging acquired.

My single recommendation for a first timer: do NOT overbook yourself. Schedule no more than 4 hours of games each day to give yourself plenty of time to wander around and drop in on things you didn't expect or know about.

Bah. Sleep is for the weak. The first year I went I had at least 3 games a day, four on a couple, Yes, I was dead on my feet by Sunday, but it was awesome. No one really needs more than 4 hours of sleep a night anyway.

I didn't go last year after having gone to the previous four and I missed it a lot (even though I made up for it by visiting a bunch of ENW friends along the east coast including Piratecat).

Don't for a second think I've forgotten about that.

Do to a re-org at work that merged me and my travel buddy, it looks like I have been to my last Gencon for at least a couple of more years, either he retires or I do in 5 years. 23 years going! :(
