[GenCon] Convention Center maps, gaming locations

As this is the first year here, I doubt anyone will know this, but does anyone have any idea where open gaming will take place? I ask because I'm wondering if we can coordinate some kind of a way to make sure that EN World folk will be able to find other EN World folk who might be interested in doing some gaming. Anyone have thoughts on the matter?

Twin Rose Software (http://www.twinrose.net/) has very kindly donated some booth space at Gen Con to EN Publishing. This location, Booth #2045, has been designated as the unofficial EN World gathering point - you are welcome to use it to meet each other, leave messages for each other, or simply to hang out. We plan to have a noticeboard there where you can post notices, arrange EN World games, leave messages for each other and so forth. It's also the best place to get hold of me should you want to drop by and say hello!

That's from today's news. I hope this helps you, Eric, and everyone else planning to attend! :) I'm very glad that we could be of assistance, and I'm very proud to be working so closely with EN Publishing.

Enjoy your gaming!

Cheap parking, well depends on the definition. Parking in downtown is hit and miss. The almost best advice is to drive around downtown and pick one. I know the convention center has parking, but longterm (all day will run a bit). There is a mall downtown (Circle Center Mall) that has plenty of parking garages. I think it ran me 12 bucks for all day when I had to work a small contract near there.

There are a few of the 5 dollar all day parking places, but they are small. If there is interest I can call and try and find some general rates per hour.

Hey - if it would be no trouble, I would be MOST thankful!! :) I am trying to get in under 10 a day if possible! :p

--->kkoie - thanks! :)

I'm one of those guys who likes to know where stuff is happening ahead of time. After a bit of a search I have come up with floorplans for the convention center.

First floor

Second Floor

PDF version of both

Ok, so for me the big "events" are the ENnies (taking place in the White River Ballroom (first floor, just NW of the stadium floor), and some seminars taking place in the Sagamore Ballroom (which will apparently be split up into sections; Sagamore's on the second floor in the NE corner).

As this is the first year here, I doubt anyone will know this, but does anyone have any idea where open gaming will take place? Does anybody know what else (if anything) is taking place on the 2nd floor???

There are 12 small rooms which should be Non-RPGA RPGs and there is one Large (Exhibit Hall Size) Ballroom that can be broken into smaller (Still large) rooms. This Ballroom was listed previously as Sponsor (I am not entirely sure what this means). That is all on the second floor besides 2 skywalks. This area is gennerally therefore less active than the first floor and with the size of the hallways I expect to see people camping out and playing games even if no tables are set up.

Thursday night "You Name it" night at the Slippery Noodle, for $2.25 each... oh yeah.... sounds like we need to invent "The Ennie" not to mention several other iconic namesake drinks...
