GenCon Costume Pictures

Hmmm, some of those look like they could be escapees from Valar products:p

That girl in the chainmail dress looks like she is thinking, "I'm glad I shaved.":D

OMG!

When I was in grad school at East Carolina University I had the bad fortune to game with a couple that I thereafter dubbed the "Troglodytes." One of the worst gaming experiences I've ever had. As soon as I could get out of their house I ran and never looked back.

Well, the female of the couple is in those pics. Twice. I really wish there was a throw-up smilie on here.

I think my hair just turned white.

Freeeeeeeeeakville.

Well then thank goodness I don't have any of my picture posted as you would die form how ugly I am ,but then again i guess i don't worry near so much if they fit what people call beautiful, but the spirit in which those of us who enjoy dressing up bring to the game.

Sorry ken, you took what I was saying the wrong way. After gaming for 24+ years, I'm pretty accepting of everyone's tastes. I have no problem with people dressing up and I thought lots of those pics were really cool (some were not, of course :D). And I'm no Antonio Banderes, either, so I've got no room to judge in the looks department.

My experience role-playing with the "Troglodytes" was what turned me off, in addition to the way that they lived and their level of personal hygiene and their inability to separate reality from fantasy. It was a very disturbing afternoon that I spent with them. The very memory of it is enough to make me hurl. I was just shocked into remembering things unwanted when I saw her pic.

I hope that clears things up. Now go get your costumin' on :D

Oh Wait now I understand, yes I've met people like that . I didn't realize You where referring the the smell form the unwashed body, that hasn't seen soap for years :( I used to have a guy game with us at a local library, with poor hygiene habits. :( Yes that can be unnerving

those pictures are, ultimately, depressing.
Some pictures just capture a person's personality, and too much so for some of those.... :(

Thumbs up to Chainmail Woman.
I liked the previously-linked wizardess - very fitting for a PC.
Many of the costumes had style.

I think there are many people who should get to a Ren Faire as quick as possible.
I'm very interested in the link between RPGing and Ren Faire, but I can't seem to get a gaming group together at Faire. It's like they're SO close in personality, that they oppose each other - like only one can be indulged in at a time. :D
