GenCon d20 Pick up games

In an effort to get to know some of the people here at Enworld I'm going to be running a game or two, of D20 modern. I'm not on the list of events so don't try and buy a ticket! The first game will be on the second day at night (probably around 7 but time may change depending on the awards show). Most games are over by then and if any of you searched around like I did it's tough finding a game at night. I'll post more when I have a clear schedule in hand and let everyone who is interested know about the details. This is what is certain though. The game will be Ghost in the Shell using d20 modern and I'm looking for a max of five players. As I said, I may try to do more depending on interest and my schedule.

I'd be interested depending on the timing, of course. I'll be doing something similar with d20 fantasy scenarios. Mind if I also use this thread to spread the word and collect some players, or should I start my own?

Hey Dareoon,

Well, we've met, but this might be another chance to game together!

The wife and I will be at GenCon!

Is anyone else from your regular group going as well?

My schedule is filling up fast but I'd like to try to play something!

Let me know! :)

If all goes well i'll be running my infamous GDQ series there! Last year the party got most of the way through G1...this year it's G2! It's (hopefully!) going to be an ENWorld tradition for me to run another one each time and one day (or year) i might actually kill a PC in this game!

I'm going!:D As well as one or two others from our gameing group.

Mark i for one would like to get in on one of your games agian this year.

Wow, from the sound of it the EN World pick up games may be better then a lot of the scheduled ones. BTW, for anyone interested i can personnally attest to the fact that D.D. runs a darn good D20 Modern game. Anyone getting in probably woun't be disaapionted.

Leopold,

I'll be at GenCon with John Sussenberger, and I'd love to get in on this one. GDQ was my favorite series in the old days...

PS

Just to let you know, I ran a neat little Fallout-esque adventure at GenCon 2002 (using the Dragonstar rules mostly, since d20M wasn't out yet) and had some trouble gettinga table. Event staff actually gave me and the players I had collected a hard time about playing an non-Con event. Eventually, we had to do a switchback and essentially steal a table in one of the rooms where there was only one or two offical events playing. And it was late at night, which made it even wierder.

Anyway, just thought i would warn you that genCon and pick-up games might not mix (though who knows what it will be like in Indy).

Well this will be only my second GenCon (first in 2000) and I absolutely want to get into several pickup games while I am there.
My gamer wife will be with me and I really hope to get into a game with some other EN people so she (and I) can put a face to a name I have been talking about.
If doing it actually at the con is an issue I would think with all the hotel rooms being rented for the weekend there will be plenty of gaming going on :D

As people get their schedules set, make sure to post here with when you are available for pick up games and what you'd be interested in playing.

Make sure to set aside some time for the dealers' room. A lot of folks like to have some time for buying things early in the convention (so they don't miss the hot items) and some time on Sunday (so they can pick up some things that might be discounted.)

It's probably a good idea for those of us running pick up games to try and run them as per the regular time slots so we don't overlap scheduled events too much and maximize the number of people that can play in the pick up games. :)

Mark- Of course you can advertise here no need to start another thread. Using the time slots is probebly the best way to go. When I went last year I spent the night time trying to find games and had no luck. My friends and I found the anime room and boy did that fill the time. So that's what I'm shooting for off peak time nigh game. People can fill there sheduels with the "offical stuff" for the day and have something to do later on. BRING LOTS OF MOUNTAIN DEW!!!! I still have my cup from last year!

Raynard- Me an my friends spent sigificant time trying to get into games later in the day and night last year. They had plenty of tables lots of free space but it seemed that everyone was gaming with there regular group but at GenCon! I fast talked my way into all my games, I had the generic ticket, but during the night absolutly nothing. If they give me a hard time I'll just wave my hand and say "These are not the people your looking for. Those are the people that need to be moved along." As I point to the two thousand magic card game people.

Gospog- It looks to be Sir Osis, Shadow64, and Mr. lurker "I don't have to post to benefit from ENworld". I'll probebly run two games so you'll have a spot in one.
