[GenCon] Got your badge yet?

I got mine on 7-05 (Saturday), and so did my accomplice - excuse me, the buddy I'm going with. :)

The funny thing is I haven't even seen it yet - my wife called and told me, and I've taken it for granted ever since. Think I'd better go stock the thing in my bookbag when I get home, just to be sure...

jaults, I wouldn't worry about getting generics. I've bought them in the past, and never used them. If you want to just play, you can always find pick-up games at the pick-up games area. These are just games ran by regular folks who didn't send in the event information, or they are spur of the moment games.

And as for the tournament stuff, yes, you can watch all that stuff for free.

Hmmm. Still no sign of mine.

I guess I should be asking what I should be looking for here. Does it come through the regular snail mail, or are they FedExing them like last year? Does the envelope have GEN CON displayed prominently on it somewhere, or is it a "stealth" with a return address that makes it look more like regular ol' junk mail?

Most importantly, I should find out what number I need to call to complain if it doesn't show up by Friday...I'd say that's a fairly generous amount of time to get it here, given how small amount of lead time they have been sending them out and the actual con.

Ye gawdess, I swear, they make this more difficult every fraggin' year...

badge is in the house

I got mine Saturday 7/5, and I didn't actually change the setting on gencon.com to 'mail it to me' until last Monday 6/30. Before that I had inadvertantly set it to 'will call'.

Of course my stack of event tix are at Will Call. I am also hoping for the relatively painless and well-greased will call window. I'd like to get over to the RPGA meeting by 7.

The website says if you don't have it by 7/11 email them and get it 'taken care of'. I don't know what that means, tho.

Ralph, it came in a regular envelope, it does say GenCon on the outside but it's not especially eye-catching so it might get tossed with the junk mail if you're not looking carefully.
