[GenCon] Pickup games

francisca

I got dice older than you.
Well, I was stooopid or lazy (or a combo) and didn't pre-register. So, I'm going to be pretty reliant on pick-up games. Having never been to GenCon, I have several questions:

Is there some sort of protocol, or is it just complete chaos?

Are there tables available for use for pick-up games?

Does anyone coordinate pick-up games for ENWorlders at the booth?

Would anyone be interested in playing in an old-school Basic/Expert D&D or 1st Edition Gamma World game? I have the itch to run them.

I'd also like to play in a laid back 3E game, as I only get to DM 3E, and don't feel good enough to run a 3E game for fellow ENWorlders.

So, basically, I got no clue.

I could be talked into any edition Gamma World most likely.

Also I will likely try to run a game from our local 'living' campaign- Serial Pulp Adventures, which is based on the Pulp Heroes mini game from Polyhedron. If people are interested, please let me know. The rules are quite close to those in Polyhedron, but there have been some modifications. They can be found at www.pulp-adventures.com.

See Morrus' sticky thread above for the location where you may be able to find EN World folks to game with.

As far as a protocol or whatever, I'm not sure myself. Stuff just sort of happens.

I'm down for DMing a game on Saturday morning and have not signed up to take part in any games yet.

What I was planning to do was bring along a couple of Planescape related adventures, post some invites by the EN World Publishing booth and see who is interested in coming along.

I'd be up for a Basic/Expert D&D game. Haven't played that for a long time. Really long time. :)

Great! I'll leave a post at the ENworld booth.

I just have to ask, with all the talk around here about Editions, which edition of the basic rules will you be using? Blue box, Pink Box (Otus art), Red Box, Cyclopedia? I can bring any of them. :D
