GenCon SoCal & ENWorld Gathering

Oh, it's just a matter of what sort of final exams and or projects will be coming up then.

Say, I have syllabi, I should just look and see what each prof is requiring... :)

I'm up for getting an all-Enworld game together, also.

There were some at Indy .. I .. Didn't get to play in any games :( Expect an announcement about the Twin Rose booth this week, by the way... I think many of you will be surprised.

You know what really seems to be missing so far?

Games for beginners. (Okay... D&D games for beginners... I see some Stargate SG-1 D20 intro games... But that is probably the book is new.) Or am I just missing them in the catalogue? There seem to be a number of "all levels are welcome" games, but none specifically for people who haven't played or haven't played much.

I myself have been playing RPGs for about 10 years now. I have two roommates, one who's been playing for something like 20 or more years, and another who's played, like, twice. (Her first experience with D&D was when we ran the sample module for the, then, newly released 3e.)

We're trying to find a game for her at GenCon West but there just doesn't seem to be anything targeted specifically to beginners...

I've been reinspired this past couple of days about what the ENWorld community means. I think I might just ensure that a "newbie game" is scheduled for SoCal ... Come by the booth early (drop me a reminder email, too) and I'll make sure there's a sign in sheet for that :)

I'll be at GenCon SoCal, running Shadowrun for FanPro, just like I was at the main GenCon.

Of course this time I hope to actually get to go out and play D&D too. ;-)

I would definitely be interested in a beginners DnD game as my wife is coming to her first Con and she has only played once before. We will be there Saturday.

I will be there; 4-day badge, but my Sunday flight leaves in the morning. :( I haven't signed up for any events yet, so I'll just be playing things by ear when I'm not running Spycraft stuff for AEG. If anyone wants to play something, I'll try to bring a couple scenarios for pick-up games (I know I have 7th Sea, Feng Shui, Spycraft, and D&D3 scenarios available. Probably a few others, too, but I don't want to carry too many books.)

Hope to see y'all there. Perhaps some of us can get together for lunch or dinner at some point?

By the way, I neglected to mention this yesterday, but the D&D game I have prepared was intended as a simple intro for new players (my co-workers). I'd be happy to run it for anyone looking for an intro game.

I should probably mention that the pregens are pretty simple, and not the experienced / heroic characters typical of D&D games. They are all teenagers returning from the county faire, and only one of them is armed (with a dagger).
