GenCon WotC Freelancer Evening Meet-Up

Hey there ENWorlders and WotC freelancers,

My name is Craig Campbell and I'm a regular freelancer for Wizards of the Coast (RPGA, Dragon, Dungeon).

I'll be attending GenCon this year and was wondering if there are any other Wizards freelancers who'd like to get together for a while on Friday or Saturday evening to hang out, share freelancing stories, network, and have a drink or two.

Non-freelancers and aspiring freelancers would certainly be welcome, too. Maybe you'd like to pick the brains of some people who freelance regularly for D&D. Or maybe you just want to hang out. It's all good.

I'm willing to organize this, but first I want to see if there's enough interest to make it worthwhile. So, are you interested? And, if so, what evening would work best for you, Friday or Saturday?

This meet-up would likely take place in a bar in one of the GenCon hotels.

Respond here and let me know. Thanks.

I would like to make it, but my schedule is not my own. I definitely cannot be there Saturday night, but Friday night is a possibility. If you set up something and it turns out I can make it, I will be there.

Friday night is the Ennies and Saturday night is the Media Meet & Greet at Union Station (which often has many freelancers in attendance). I could go to a different bar after either of those things- or just combine with the Meet & Greet.

Between this thread, PMs, and emails, I've got enough interested parties to figure this meet-up will happen.

Anyone else interested? Respond to this thread or PM me.

I hope to pin down the day, time, and location this weekend (early next week at the latest) once I know who's interested and their preferred evenings.

I'll accommodate as many people as possible, based on the preferences you provide to me.

For the record, I know that the ENnies are on Friday evening. If this happens on Friday, it'll be during AND after the ENnies so that anyone going to the ENnies can swing by afterwards. I expect to just camp out in the selected bar for that evening for anyone who swings by and whatever times they can make it.

One final bump for the weekend.

I'll confirm the specifics later this weekend, but I'm strongly leaning toward Friday evening, as Friday works (or is at least possible) for everyone who has responded to me thus far.

Right now, I have about a half dozen people (plus a maybe from a Wizards guy).

Anyone else want in?

Aspiring freelancers and non-freelancers are welcome as well, not just current freelancers.
