Look at the bright side, you've just stumbled onto the mother of all XP fountains. :)

At the very least, if you just accomplish your original objective, you'll earn more XP doing it than you otherwise would.

Sorry for my absense, things exploded at work.

I'm going to do some OOC recruiting in the RDI to fill a slot. Doghead has been gone for a while, and Gnomeworks seems to have disapeared again (He returned once to tell me he was kind of busy). Need 1-2 goodish 3-5th levelers
 

Eternity would side with Hulgyr and Michael on the no-killing thing. Though she suspects that these guards are not entirely human.
 

Ironwolf was under the impression that the group had been hired to resist the Fallonese army anyway. Geurilla warfare in order to stop their imperialistic expansion, wasn't it... unless their story about moving in to protect people from monsters turned out to be true, and that seems at best unlikely to be their sole motivation.

If the city of Fallon wants a fight, I say we give it to them! : predatory grin! :

Guerilla warfare is something Zaeryl can get behind, but guerilla warfare implies you actually *kill* the guys you beat so you can win by attrition. Guerilla warfare where you don't kill the people you beat is patently moronic :lol:
 

I'm not satisfied that we have enough information to start killing people yet. I also never suggested we give these soldiers back to their employer. We need to make contact with the locals... perhaps establish a P.O.W. camp?

It takes more skill to capture your enemies alive. If we become hard pressed, we may have no choice in the matter... so far though, Ironwolf is unimpressed with the martial skills of the Fallonese regulars.

(I'm going to assume you're not actually intending to call me a Moron...) :p

Nope, not intending that. Just saying that if we throw them back to Fallon every time, we can never win by guerilla warfare and it is sheer futility to try :lol: I think everyone can agree with that, at least. I do reserve the right for anyone who thinks a war of attrition can be won where you knock out soldiers and then return them to their people :D
 

Oh, I agree. We have to keep them or kill them... I just don't want to kill them.

Michael's idea that we're facing an army and ought to run away is entirely reasonable, but Ironwolf isn't feeling all that reasonable at the moment. Bring it on, Fallon!

Though if we wind up fighting substantial chunks of army at the same time, I'll need a few more levels first. :) A problem not dissimilar to that faced in a typical dungeon, such as when raiding the Caves of Chaos in Keep on the Borderlands: if all those orcs, goblins, and assorted monsters actually got organized enough to send a large fraction of their strength at you at once, you would have no chance at all.

We'll have to choose our battles with care, but we could still come out on top!
