Me three, though I hope to get the book sometime.

I think a Living Setting (Eberron, FR) could work quite well, or a Focussed Game that allows a few books (say, a dwarf-centric world that allows Races of Stone and bits of Underdark). Of course, the judges would need to look at new books, and allow/disallow bits from them in a Setting and, to a lesser degree, Focussed Game. Not to forget any possible novels ("Since we prefer Thay not to be a smoldering giant crater, we will ignore the events from the novel 'When the Simbul got bored'") - those should probably be ignored by default. ;)

I'd like to get permission to grant him a one time, never to be repeated 'Good Luck and Thanks for Playing' bonus of 90 XP. It would be nice to not to have to start the next adventure (which would be the character's third attempt) just shy of the next level (2nd).

As DM you have considerable discretion with XP awards, within reason -- the requirement that the judge sign off on the award can enforce the "within reason" part.

In my game, I let one player "borrow" some XP, knowing that he's guaranteed to make it up once the party returns to the dungeon, because everyone else was due to gain second level when they temporarily surfaced, but Lokin had been unconscious during one encounter. I ran it by my judge first, though.

Hi folks,

before making a proposal, i want to bring this by this thread: in short the bank or Orussus.
This would allow player to set aside some money so they won't have to drag around thier huge piles of gold.

Would there be a demand for such a thing? Has there already been such a initiative? Do we think this problem can be solved without an 'official' installment?

If i get some positive feedback here i'll post the proposal.

Greetings,

In the adventures I´ve been running I included a bank (without giving details beyond merely mentioning them). It seems that Enworld has at least a renaissance-level amount of commerce; relatively large ports, frequent caravans and river trade, and very wealthy merchants able to finance trading expeditions to far lands have been mentioned. There are not specific details on how banks work, except that letters of credit indeed exist, an useful alternative to carrying sacks of gold.

Bank? That could be interesting... could Rinaldo Shop start that service too... hmmm...

But for Rinaldo, he is lucky, he can leaves his money at his shop. not only he can't lose it during adventure, but he also can use it to run his shop and finish with more money if people would start to dare to visit it.

Come on people, the shop is open! You need to sell item and get more money than the usual 50%, come to Rinaldo shop!

I've had character ask for and find banks in at least two seperate adventures with two seperate DMs. Renaissance level banking is actually fairly significant.

Letters of credit have also been used in several adventures. I would be all for someone writing up a proposal giving the banking system some detail, if someone was so inclined.

Iggy has left a couple spellbooks with Joe @the RDI. My impression was that a 'safe deposit box' was available from Joe, as part of his service to adventurers. A banking system would probably be better though, if someone put in the effort to work it out.

I was thinking about it, for the banking system:

A character could run that. He only need to buy a shop and use it to run his bank. And then, he could take a % of the money in bank to gives loan... but that's risky but it is hard to get back the money. The other possibility, it is that, like my shop, offer that bank service and with the money in bank, he can use that % to run his business. At least, if the shop don't have the money, he can pay back in items in stock.

But the thing I was thinking, even if I could easily offer the service OOC, I was thinking that IC, in a city like Orussus, with the guild running the city, a person trying to offer to much service might start to work in another,s one guild and might have trouble with the authority. That's supposing the guild control a lot there resective field.

Though, I do like the idea of the Focused Games, and I think they wouldn't work as well as a Living Focused Game.
