General Discussion Thread IX

Hi All,
New to LEW so forgive me if I have broken protocol or procedure. I am still reading all the new rules and additions. I think you guys have me hooked though :)

One thing I noticed, that I thought would be good. And I don't know if this should be a seperate proposal (or if I should even do so) would be to add a space on the 'strongly suggested' character sheet for craft points. While a character may not be using them, they do accumulate and ought to be tracked.

I'd put craft points in a Notes section at the bottom of the sheet, but it'd make sense to have it on the standard sheet, since craft points are a part of LEW.

There's certainly no reason you shouldn't start a proposal thread, though. :)

This thread is for anyone and anything regarding LEW, and especially for questions just like yours.

Living Eberron? Sounds like a great idea for here. There's a lot of Eberron love on the normal PbP boards. I'm running 2 games myself and they filled fast.

I put them below the second block of information (Ability scores and derived values), personally.

Personally I put it next to XP, I think.. or do I? No wait I put it under the first info block. Okay now I understand why we would want a suggested location.

Living Enworld would be cool, I'd play. But as with LEW it was important to establish approved sources.

Cleric of Tarusk

Ok, so I think I am the first person to bring the Evil Cleric of Tarusk into the world (Play one) and I was trying to think of something special to make him come alive a little more.

Now as an evil cleric I can change out spells automatically to "inflict" so I see no need to memorize them more than any good cleric wastes slots on heal spells.

That said, I will be probably healing people and memorizing those healing type spells more often than not. However, I think to myself it seems fine that the evil gods would allow healing because hey, what god wants the followers and clerics to die. The rub is there should be some differences in the way that evil healing might work. I think especially from a god who likes to inflict pain on his victims to harvest their tears as well as their blood. (This is in the write up for the god.) The god gets something out of inflicting pain.

I just think it odd that a good gods healing leaves no scars is painless and as of now so is an evil gods healing power.

Now to make this gods clerics different I am suggesting that when people are healed with his power it is very painful, not horrendous or anything probably about like getting a wound cauterized (bearable and good for you but it sucks to go through). Also that when healed by a cleric of Tarusk the wounds leave scars, now not anything that is going to create work for us making up charisma loss tables and stuff but more for flavor than anything else.

So, bottom line is I would like to get this written into the Tarusk write up. I didn't write it as I understand its a conglomeration of people making stuff up in their adventures and such.

How do I do this? Does it have to be a proposal or can I just say thats what happens when my character heals heals people. I just did a small adventure with him and was going to just say it regardless but I wanted to be respectful of the community and see what people thought. I think it just brings a little flavor to the concept of evil healing.

If it takes a proposal I'll do that but those seem to just get lost in most cases. Take forever to adjudicate and get any votes on. (With the exception of certain ones of course.)

So, any comments are surely welcome, remember the point is just a little flavor changes and not making up a newfangled system of scars and charisma and ability damages. Just a little pain upon healing and such.

Regards,

DerHauptman-Out!

I like that idea, too, Der Haupman. I think you should just go for it. We don't need a proposal thread for every little thing.

I put them right below the entry for Armor Check Penalty.
