This group could probably use a healer, but give them that, and they'd be all over this adventure. I guess Rinaldo + wand = healer possibly :D

Well, you havn't heard of the new deal? The action figurine of Rinaldo doesn't come alone anymore. You can have his sidekick for free: Hogarth, cleric of Gundar and master of the healing wand ;) he is cleric level 5 and knows how to defend himself in combat, and could be side to side with Vanitri and Rinaldo on the front line.

Uhh...forgot about him. Then it isn't just sort of the perfect group. It has everything it needs--if Vanitri was just a bit more focused with his skill ranks instead of spending a few in different places (leaving some of his Rogue stuff like Disable Device a tad lowish), I'd say you would not possibly be missing anything, but I haven't seen an LEW group with this many key components yet

Well, propose it, and if Manzanita takes them, fine, and if not, no big deal.

I've been trying to get ahold of him in e-mail for over a week. Too late now though.
I proposed it to everyone except KO2, Bront, and Erekose.

It would help if I ever got to take a class that gave me ranks in it that I didn't need to put somewhere else. I'm only Rogue 2

I think, the only thing that would miss, it is a true meat shield. A pure figther or barbarian, but an adventure in a magical academia might promise to have not too much Ogre in it.

Oh, it's not in a magical academy at all--and no promise in lack of ogres :D :] However, I would contend that there really isn't a such thing as a 'meatshield' unless your enemies are being dumb :) And the Ranger-ish guy can do for melee in a pinch.

Enemies are often dumb. Unless of course your DM chooses to play even zombies and bears as tactical geniuses, though that's hardly fair! :)

Also, many foes are reluctant to provoke attacks of opportunity. A melee type dashin in to engage the enemy can therefore act as a classic meat shield for all but the most mobile enemies... simple reluctance to give the melee guy a free hit can lock them in place.

I'd agree that it's hard to act as a meatshield if your enemies are moderately intelligent and win initiative.

OK. I freely admit to being lame lately. I finally did get into my email, but didn't stay in long enough to read the email bront sent me, among others. I do have an adventure planned out and approved, but I'm happy not to start it quite yet. I was actually hoping for a good -aligned party, of whom not more than 2 had been in my Monemvassia series, and all being Level 5+. Not to mention being balanced. I was going to recruit OOC, as well, giving my hooks to those PCs whose players had volunteered them.

In any case, Rystil, please recruit & clear out the Inn. More PCs will trail in for me, & by then, I ought to be ready for them.

I'll still get to your email Bront!

Hey - when's GenCon next year?

Is there any LEW rule in regards to character aging? The SRD lists penalties / bouses for age categories, but so far as I can tell, offers no mechanic for determining the rate at which characters age (e.g. reconciling real time with game time, changing age as a function of levelling, etc.).

If I missed this somewhere, my apologies for the redundancy.

thanks,

jason

As far as I know (and I haven't looked into this extensively, so I could be wrong), the only character in LEW to have made a change to the number next to age is Vanitri, who recently added two years due to a long adventure. Of course, this causes all sorts of continuity issues with compatriots of Vanitri who are still the same, younger age. Oh well
