I'm flattered, but I'm wondering who's reading it?
I'm reading it. I'm relatively new to ENworld, so I'm trying to read a smattering of threads to try to see what's going on. I'm particularly interested in Crux, since it has lots of good stuff about the Academy of the Chromatic order, which is a big part of my (only, currently) character's background.

Oh, another Academician? Great! Stop reading Crux right now* and look on the second page when you tell ENWorld to filter only Adventure threads and threads all the way since the beginning (if you don't know how to do that yet, look for Display Options near the bottom of the page). You're looking for A Teacher for Laynie and A Teacher for Laynie Part II. Those are chock-full of Academy, Academy, and more Academy and are the best sources anywhere for the Academy of the Chromatic Order (plus, I totally riff on the source conventions of the magic school genre).

*Okay, you can actually still read Crux too if you want. It's pretty cool too

Ooh, now that you mentioned the Academy, I had a once-over your character sheet. It may be well to know that the youngest admitee in the memory of the Academy was 11, and it was basically unheard of (this established in aTfL in 2005 and mentioned again in Rinaldo gets Schooled--she only got in at 11 due to being the greatest prodigy in the generation and the descendant of one of the three founders).

I'd put him in the Academy at 13 or 14 if you want him to a very early admitee. Notice also that when you picked the age of 16, you actually picked an age that is not technically legal for a Wizard by the standard SRD rules (15 + 2d6), though I don't think we mind in general if you don't use that rule. However, I did base the age restrictions of the Academy on that. If he's pretty fast, he could be a 17-year-old who graduated with the full Wizard's Degree in 4, starting at 13. That would still be something students would talk about when they were thinking of the youngest graduates.

By the way, in case you've stopped reading Crux for the moment, I'll just point out here that Ashna is alive again now--and without even losing any XP!
Must have been after my quick read. Besides, you know that characters can turn down that magic, and that the soul learns the alignment of the caster (though might not remember it, I'm not quite sure atm). ;) Would that cause Sin to be in breach of contract? ;)

Sadly, no, as she will have done that at her best of her ability. If she can force your soul back and you have your word to say and say no, she had tried what she could do to bring you to life.

She didn't actually return you to life--instead she forcibly wrenched you from the timestream when you weren't dead ;) It wasn't a resurrection, so you have no say :p

I've seen that now. :(

What, holding out for a regular resurrection so you can lose a level? :p You should be happy to get off so easily! :)
Nah, holding out for a regular resurrection so Ashna(r) can be shaped and formed by the death. Of course, since now (s)he didn't actually die, that's a moot point.
