General Discussion

I can't seem to find it, so I'm throwing it out there: any opinions on what action it takes to dismiss the invisibility granted by the Vanish Trick ninja ability? It's a swift action to activate, but functions "as invisibility." Invisibility is a dismiss-able spell, but dismissing a spell is a standard action.

My inclination is that invoking and dismissing the ability would be roughly equivalent actions, but I'm thinking the RAW might not follow given the phrasing of things?

What language do they speak in Sumbru?

Good question. I can't seem to find an answer, but here are some thoughts:
(1) Low Landellian is associated with the Venza/Tritower area, on the west coast
(2) High Landellian is associated with the Tal Hallow area, to the south
(3) Old Landellian is said to be spoken in the 'far flung' areas of the baronies
(4) Middle Landellian has no specific mention

I'm going to assume that the language areas are somewhat contiguous in nature, at least to try and make sense out of them. It's a pretty far trot to either Venza/Tritower or Tal Hallow, so either of their languages might seem unlikely. Given the choice of Old or Middle for the very symbol of old world power in the baronies, I'd want to say Old Landellian.

As an aside, the language that 'doesn't fit', for me, is Middle Landellian. The language tree is just a little too complex for me , but it has a lot of use by now, so probably not gonna change any time soon. :P

Historical note: We were going for a compromise between "Everyone just speaks Common" and "Landadel is just like Europe." In the real world, a place like Landadel would have 50 languages and hundreds of dialects. I mean, Wikipedia names 24 language groups for Europe. Not languages ... language groups. The Celtic group has six distinct languages in it; the Romance group has 18 not counting Latin. Four total languages for LPF seemed like a reasonable number.

I agree that Old Landellian fits Sumbru.

Oh, I wasn't trying to infer it was too many in relation to reality. My offhand comment was merely a reflection of my own tastes. I ran a campaign with 4 main languages (not counting secret languages and such), which matched the maximum a player could have with high INT. Admittedly, it was purposely simple.

It's a unclear how much the Landellian family are related to each other, if at all. The very name structure implies a relationship, but I assume that a lack of detail on the issue means they are, for all intents, fully separate.
