Because it hates us. That's what I figure.

The debugger in me is trying to figure it out as well (given the 3 posts above...)

[r oll]1d20+17[/roll] without the space, which would make it [roll0]. It's failed on me a couple of times in the IC thread.

Might be something to do with how it is getting parsed. I don't know enough about BB code to be sure unfortunately.

It appears we are NOT able to do it after edit, but only on initial posting?

JS45, that is correct, so as to prevent any cheating.

the roller seems to have good days and bd days, especially if there are several rolls.

Switching to advanced mode or previewing your post will also remove the roll expression and replace it with [roll0], etc. Then you have to re-add the actual tags and the dice to be rolled into the preview pane.
