General question using MS Paint or similar (free) program for Dungeon Mapping

This does require internet access for roll20. FG could maybe do it on a LAN? Not sure.

So Roll20 and FG are both running one virtual table, and it is displayed in multiple places (computer or screens), and GMs and players see things slightly differently.

So, Roll20 you log into the table with a web browser, the GM is going to see more than the any player that logs in. You can run two instances of your web browser (there are some tricks to this so that they are using different caches) and if you have two displays hooked to your computer, then you put a browser on each one.

FG works on a local network, or even on a single computer you can run two instances of FG. One is the GM client, then the other is a player client and it connects to your GM instance. You then put one on each screen.

I could not easily find an example of what an FG mask looks like from the GM perspective, but here's a video showing the GM view; https://www.twitch.tv/videos/105608230
