General star wars talk/discussion/complaining

Range of silly accents.
I know you love to go on about how awful Oscar's British accent was ... but I reckon it actually makes sense when you think about it. "Steven Grant" isn't a British person. He's a persona that an American person developed subconsciously as a child based on a movie character. Of course he's going to have a bad British accent!

Yeah baby yoda seems to be the thing thats stuck in the last twenty years. Nobody remembers the fur chickens from the ST.
I still have a porg as my Disney+ profile picture. :P

Yeah, I thought they did a great job of explaining it, and showing that it was an imitation of a specific actor's performance.

The onky reason I don't own a porg plushie is they never made a true plushie, only this weird automaton thing that was too hard to hug. Similar with baby Yoda. At least there're non official ones that do work as a plushie.

He has been living an working in London. He would have noticed people don’t speak like that - in fact he would probably have been beaten up for taking the piss.

The thing about cockney is it is a dead dialect. People occasionally put it on for the tourists, but no one uses it in everyday life.

Maybe. "Steven" is a pretty hapless guy. And you may be taking it a little too personally at this point.

Nothing from Star Wars has been that bad to me.
But there have been some amazing projects recently. Some thoughts, part 1...

Visions : If you break it down to individual episodes, season 1 alone has 3 or 4 of the best things Star Wars had ever done

Andor : The show nobody wanted ended up the best live action Star wars. I've always said I'm happy for Disney to make heaps of shows, because every now and then, you get a true gem that wouldn't have otherwise been made. Almost like they should stop listening to fans and just keep cooking.

Skeleton Crew: Captured an essence probably not seen since the original trilogy. Star Wars that felt as much Spielberg as it did Lucas. Bonus points for Jude Law

The Acolyte: Great show that didn't deserve to be made a culture war frontline. Some awesome LightSaber fights and original ideas.
