General star wars talk/discussion/complaining

If you haven't listened to them, I highly recommend doing so. Because it's an audio drama there's more dialogue, some extra scenes, and expanded scenes.

Fun fact: Lucas considered the radio plays to be the same level of canon as the films.

I don't keep up to know if Disney considers them canon or Legacy, though.

IS there any recent good star wars fiction? The last one I read and enjoyed was Twilight Company, the surprisingly good military-sci-fi Battlefront tie in. I did not like Inferno Squad as much.

I stopped reading Star Wars fiction when Jacen Solo fell to the dark side.

I've heard good things about some comics runs. Doctor Aphra, some High Republic stuff ... haven't read it myself though so this is second hand.

I've heard good things about Lost Stars.

Disney era comics good reputation, novels very poor generally. After a decade theres no Heir to the Empire or Wraith Squadron books.

Oh Thrawn books have a good reputation. Zahns responsible of course.

Bloodlines is good if you like political intrigue (which I do), and I agree on the Thrawn books and Disney comics (those I've read).

I have a theory that the Heir to the Empire books strongly benefit from being the first competent star wars folks had seen in a long time. They aren't actually great.

Dark.Empire is probably the best post RotJ published in the era.
