Generation Legacy Issue #11 Cont'd

Bishop speaks, “I don’t this is a battle you can go alone Cassandra, and I doubt that Kelly wants to stand by idly while you carry whatever burden it is that weighs you down alone into the darkness. We are people of action, not watching others act, death is the price we pay for our actions then so be it, better to go out like a hero, then to die safely in your bed like a coward.”

Kelly nods at Bishop's statements, that was it pretty much. "I'm not going to stay out of it, its like, we can all work together and try to win and possibly fail, or have people not all work together and have everyone be killed or turned into slaves. We all have a responsibility to fight against Overseer. We were given powers for a reason and I don't mean just by Cardinal, and its up to us to use them for the right thing. Its up to us to help everyone and thats what I am going to do."

"What I really want is for this place to become part of a new nation of elites so we can be seperate from anyone that has problems with us. Nations know how to work with other nations, they don't really have experience with a vast gap in power of their people appearing suddenly. It might be easier for us to work together with everyone if we present them something that they are familiar with and know how to deal with instead. Besides there are a lot of things wrong with governments. I don't mean wrong on purpouse or anything, but they were just made so long ago that they aren't really able to keep up with all the changes in the last 20 years let alone the last hundred."

"I think this is a golden opportunity to invite Elites in and then build ourselves a modern country that takes advantage of everything we have to offer. We could be an example that other countries could strive to reach as the over all elite population grows. Another part of the problem is that the only pro-elite organizations are full of criminals...uh, no offense. Its either root for Pantheon who everyone thinks are terrorists, or root for the UN who wants to register us and feels free to arrest us even if we haven't done anything wrong. We need a legitimate pro-elite group and turning Sanctuary into soverign nation can give elites a place to turn to for help and support."

"Lazy? I have my own projects to do as well Ryan." He responds standing up so he can look at purple elite eye to eye. "Tell you what, since I am doing your job you can do mine. All I have to do is research a spell that will prevent a soul from being used for dark magics. Why do I have to do that? Well, its because some of the people that I am associating with seem to think its a good idea to follow a course laid out by a women who is the very definition of the word evil, someone who uses guile and misdirection at every turn."

Gilden pauses for a moment before continuing, "Cassandra is underwater in a large domed building, Kelly is there as well along with her mother I believe. Tommy McKain, the terroist known as Bishop, and a thin tall old man are there as well." He turns and heads towards the exit. "Now if you will excuse me I have to venture into dark realms and annoy dark beings of immense power. Anika, it is vital that I talk to you as soon as possible. I will need your help to make these spells work."

"Wow, where did that come from?" He thinks to himself as he heads back to his room.

“So hit me with your worst,” Paragon finishes, listening.

Mark snorted sadly and gave Paragon a wan smile. "I asked Star to buy me some Coke. When she said no, I tried to offer her sex for it because I knew she had a thing for me. She still said no, and I guess I hurt her pretty bad by asking. I still want a fix, right now, Mark confessed in a thin voice.

I did not expect Mark to fess up. Paragon said exactly the right things.

Paragon nods, “Well the UNJE has a touch stance on drug use, but we also are not about to throw the book at you, especially since you came to me willingly. You made a mistake, several in fact, but you are fallible and capable of mistakes. I am going to put you in touch with Jun Min as soon as possible to work with this drug issue, the last thing we need is for you to lose it. I am proud of you Mark, you made a touch choice just now, to be honest with me, even when you may have thought it may have cost you everything.”

He continues, “Star I can’t help, but if you care about her as a friend you will or should apologize. It sounds like you do care about her feelings as a friend, playing with them like that is only going to get you burned, trust me, I understand elites but women… even artificial women I suspect, are a mystery. But apologizing always helps to make things better, gifts too.”

“The team needs you, but we need you clean,” Paragon adds.

Kelly & Cassie

“I believe in peace, I also believe that there are people that won’t respect peace until it is bought with blood and sword… then we can trade our weapons of slaughter for plowshares. Overseer will not stand down peacefully, the UNJE will not relinquish its power without force, and in the end peace is bought with blood. I am not saying you are naïve Cassandra, but we live in the real world, and we don’t have the luxury to just wait and see. We have to act, we have to fight, and perhaps even die to see our dreams realized,” Bishop retorts.

Bishop adds bitterly, “There is much blood on Tommy’s hands as well.”

Mr. Smith watches the discussion placidly.

Bishop smiles at Kelly, “I admire your ideas Kelly. I think we will need that youthful enthusiasm in the near future. Sanctuary will become a beacon for our people and in time a place where violence is just a thing of the past.”

Mark shrugged and stared at the floor. "I'll go right to her. Th-thank you..." Finally forcing himself to look up at Paragon again, he saw the elite with newfound respect and gratitude. He didn't scream. He didn't get pissed at all.

He continues, “Star I can’t help, but if you care about her as a friend you will or should apologize. Star... "I'll think of something. She didn't deserve what I did to her."

“The team needs you, but we need you clean,” Paragon adds.

"I'm still clean...so far... Thank you, sir. I owe you. I want to get better but I want a fix so bad..." Mark ended in haunted tones.

Tommy & Sheila

Tommy pours a glass of wine, “So let’s get the obvious out of the way, Sheila.”

“What that I don’t like you manipulating my daughter?” she replies.

Tommy shrugs, “I call it love. Would you like a drink, this is a fine vintage.”

“No, but you know that the only reason I have not exposed you is to protect my daughter from my Pantheon background, and I would not subject her to that,” Sheila replies glaring.

“I love your daughter, now,” Tommy clarifies, “you can say she warmed my ice cold analytical heart.”

“And I thought you were incapable of such a thing,” she replies bitterly.

“I am capable of change, besides it seems you are hiding more then just your past allegiances. Neither one knows, right?” Tommy replies with a sip of the wine.

She looks away, “You bastard, how did you…”

“Know? It is my business to know, so Kelly does not know that Bishop is her real father? Or the fact that you two were together before you met your husband, or the affair afterwards? What a game of lies and deceit we weave, Mrs. Mitchell. Not even your husband really knew, huh?”

“So what you are going to do, blackmail me now?” she hisses.

“No, of course not, I just wanted confirmation for myself. You know how I hate a mystery,” Tommy replies with a smile, “So what is it that you wanted to talk about?”

"Good, she seems like a very good person; Tommy does amazing work," he replies.

Paragon nods, “I think Jun Min will provide a solution, a little unorthodox but the success rate is very high. Still going to officially admit you into a program, probably say you got addicted to pain killers or sleep pills. An excellent PR move to humanize you, the public will eat it up, Mark.”

"I think tis safe to say the blood of many innocents that my sisters and I shed might outweigh yours, but this isn't about what is done in the past." She looks to the wall. "This is about the future."

“This has always been about the future,” Bishop replies, “Cassandra, I want to help you. I know you do not trust me, you think I am a murderous terrorist, but I do honestly want to help your cause. We are on the same side, our means are different, but the ends we seek are the same.”

"And it was that logic that led to my creation.. perhaps by you." Cassie says with a frigid tone. "To fight for your cause, and to die for it. Without consideration to what you had made. I'm not going to turn away help, Overseer is as much the cause of the future I saw as you and I are, but know this.. you are more than willing to shed other's blood for you cause and I will never agree that is right."
