Generation Legacy Issue #11 Cont'd

"Yeah, I know, and I'm a lot easier to piss off than Star, right?" she says with a slight smile. "But Star doesn't understand, she's really confused about your behavior. I'm not." She sighs. "Look, I really want to help you. Even with this Cassie thing and Genocide, that doesn't matter, I want to help you. But if you'd rather talk to Jun Min than to me, I can accept that," she says, averting her eyes at the lie. She thought they were friends, but it seemed he'd rather talk to a teacher than to her.

"I know she's confused. I'll think of something to do. Besides what I already did," Mark sighed again.

Is she jealous? "Paragon sent me to Jun Min. I guess, uh, I'm not ready to talk about this right now, ok? But thanks for, you know. I, uh...I guess I could go read your file. I probably have access but I never did so I don't really know about Germany and what happened..." Mark spread his hands helplessly. "Paragon said she'd be expecting me..."

"See ya," Ryan calls as he pushes his way into Paragon's office.

"No rest for the wicked," he says with a smile. "Tina and I tracked down Star, she put us in touch with Tommy McKain. He admitted to being with both Cassie and Kelly, and also with helping Cassandra fake her little crash. He also warned that if I kept trying to find her, he'd kill me. Tommy was serious."

"Tommy McKain also corroborated Kelly Mitchell's rather hard to believe story that he is the biological son of the terrorist Cardinal," Ryan says rather stiffly.

"In any case, Tina came up with the idea of using Gilden's magic mirror to track down Cassie. In his words, she was underwater and in the company of Kelly, Bishop, Tommy, and some old guy. The likely theory is that there's some kind of Pantheon underwater facility, likely near Cassandra's crash site," Ryan says with a smile. "Also, I can state with near perfect certainty that the woman in the company of Kelly and her mother upon his first "mind meld" thing is the terrorist Phase." Damn I'm good.

"You honestly don't know?" Anika asks. "Huh, well, I'll have to tell you about it sometime, I guess. Okay, go see Jun Min. I know it's tough to talk about, but that's better than giving into it. Remember that, okay?" she says as they approach Jun Min's office. "I'll see you tomorrow, alright? We have some planning to do," she says before leaving him at the office.

She walks to Gilden's room. "I sure hope he can his head back in the game," she thinks. She approaches Gilden's door and knocks. "Gilden, you wanted to talk?"

"Ok, tomorrow," Mark agreed, heading off for Jun Min.

SARAH replies, “Jun Min is free for the moment, shall I message her?”

Then Timothy hears in his mind, “Hey Timothy, how are you doing, nice music, you have some talent. Did you want to talk? SARAH is annoying like that, but she means well. I am sure you have much on your mind?” Jun Min replies mentally.

He leaned back, "Yeah ... plenty. I'm not going to ask what's going down with Legacy and all that. But I can feel the tension in the air, and I'm no psychic."

He sighed, unsure of where to start, and then decided on the simplest approach, "Do you think it was a smart thing for me to come here? Especially with all thats going on right now. I mean ... I'm just not sure it was a wise idea. It's like ... I'm in a sandbox where the toys used are assault rifles, hurricanes, and emotional shells."

The last I'm all too familiar with.

That last was directed more toward himself than Jun Min.

Sitting on his floor surrounded by open books and papers, he lifts his head as he hears a knock on the door. "Come in, its open."

Anika walks in. "Hey." She looks around. "Wow, nice mess. Oh, yeah, congratulations on your new UNJE assignment, by the way. I think you'll do great...but only because I'm helping you," she jokes with a smile. "So, what have you learned so far?"

Charlotte grins to herself a moment, "What a chaotic place this is, we had so many people here just a moment ago, and now they're all gone." she says to Sami, the last person sitting at the table with her currently.

Her expression turns more solemn for the moment, "Thanks for the dinner invitation. I was too tired to really care as much the other day, but since its just you and me, I want to know what is so strange about you. You're either very lucky or not a baseline. Cassie and Tim were both in critical condition after escaping Strength and Honor while you came out simply scraped. Cassie understandably couldn't defend himself, but Tim had some sort of force surrounding him, at least before he left. Not to mention Honor and Strength both came for you, which is plausible considering you're close to Anika, but at the same time I have to wonder why they would send two powerful elites after you, when most of the action seemed to take place outside."

"Not to sound suspicious or anything, but I'd like my curiosity to be indulged, if you don't mind coming up with an explanation of some sort." Charlotte concluded, prepared to gauge Sami's expression when he replies. She had been waiting for a while now to ask the supposed baseline, and while she wasn't sure exactly what was up, if there was something strange, she was determined to solve the mystery which could have ended her, Cassandra's, and Tim's lives.

"Not much, unfortunately. This world makes up with the technical for what it lacks in the arcane. This," he says sweeping a hand around his room, "I believe represents most of what this world knows about the arcane and most of it is useless." He says with a frown. "I do not believe I will be able to create the spell we need in time but I have another idea. The Red Witch's ability to manipulate demons seems to be enhanced somehow, either by some sort of artifact or she is a lot more powerfull then I have ever realised. Either way we have to find out how she is doing it. We can summon a demon and question it. If we are lucky we can figure out how she is controlling them."

"There is something else I want to talk to you about," he adds as he pauses for a moment. "It's about Genocide. I have learned that killing him will lead to the death of someone important in this world." Again he pauses for a moment before he continues. "Chaos told me. I know you dont like him," he adds quickly seeing the look on her face. "It is his nature to be deciving but his existance is on the line, I believe that he is being as honest as he can."
