Generation Legacy Issue #11 Cont'd

"Not much, unfortunately. This world makes up with the technical for what it lacks in the arcane. This," he says sweeping a hand around his room, "I believe represents most of what this world knows about the arcane and most of it is useless." He says with a frown. "I do not believe I will be able to create the spell we need in time but I have another idea. The Red Witch's ability to manipulate demons seems to be enhanced somehow, either by some sort of artifact or she is a lot more powerfull then I have ever realised. Either way we have to find out how she is doing it. We can summon a demon and question it. If we are lucky we can figure out how she is controlling them."

"You want me to help you summon a demon?" Anika asks, sounding unsure. "Will it know how Red Witch's power works? Does she summon them from your dimension? It seems like everything can...manifest itself there, unlike here. I mean, I believe in my gods' power, but I don't expect Thor to walk through the door and tell me what a bang up job I'm doing anythime soon. And I doubt any 'demons' exist in any form we can comprehend, not from here anyway." She shrugs. "You're the expert though. I'll do whatever you need me to do to help."

"There is something else I want to talk to you about," he adds as he pauses for a moment. "It's about Genocide. I have learned that killing him will lead to the death of someone important in this world." Again he pauses for a moment before he continues. "Chaos told me. I know you dont like him," he adds quickly seeing the look on her face. "It is his nature to be deciving but his existance is on the line, I believe that he is being as honest as he can."

Anika frowns, but thinks a moment. "Well, he did give Ryan good information back in that jail cell. Honestly, though, I think I'd trust Red Witch over Chaos. At least she's getting something out of it, Chaos lies because it's fun for him to make us second guess ourselves. He just said 'somebody important'? And how does killing him kill someone else at the same time, that makes no sense. Why be so vague? It's almost like he doesn't want us to believe him..." She shakes her head. "I bet he's having himself a good chuckle right now. Look, I'll talk to Mark about it tomorrow, but I don't think this is going to fly. Besides, we have Kelly to think about, too, right?"

He leaned back, "Yeah ... plenty. I'm not going to ask what's going down with Legacy and all that. But I can feel the tension in the air, and I'm no psychic."
"They live exciting lives, those Legacy students," Jun Min replies.

He sighed, unsure of where to start, and then decided on the simplest approach, "Do you think it was a smart thing for me to come here? Especially with all thats going on right now. I mean ... I'm just not sure it was a wise idea. It's like ... I'm in a sandbox where the toys used are assault rifles, hurricanes, and emotional shells."
“The easiest way to answer that would be I don’t know. I asked myself the same thing when I started working here, and I am still not sure if I made the right decision. But I do know that each day here I learn a little more about myself, and other elites. The best thing we can learn about each other and ourselves is what we are and what we can do, sure it can be a little messy at times, but in the end, I am not sure of anywhere else in the world I would rather be. I love my students, and I have found a way to cope with everything that goes on around here,” she continues.

“You just need to find some kind of normalcy, like your music or brownies and share with the others,” Jun Min advises.

Mark

Jun Min’s office is open, as she sits in her chair, looking a little bored staring at a computer screen. She taps a key every so often. She speaks to Mark as the door closes, “Work, the more important you become the more work they seem to give you. I guess to make you feel more important.”

She removes her glasses, “Well Mark, I already know… I have for awhile now, but just tell me, I guess, what happened… in your own words, everything you tell me is confidential between you and me. SARAH is not monitoring us,” she says in a comforting manner.

Ryan

“Excellent work Ryan,” Paragon replies sitting at his desk, “looks like we will have to question McKain about his involvement as well. We will make an inquiry with his Headquarters office immediately. I will handle things from here. Good work, dismissed.”

Kelly

Bishop watches Cassie go and replies to Kelly, “I think anything is possible. I am not sure if such a plan is the right course of action, an island in the middle of the ocean a nation of elites does not make. Besides I believe that we should not have to leave our homelands to find our own freedom and destinies. This isn’t about hiding away, or gathering one place for an elite wonderland, this is about real life. This is about controlling our own destinies in our homes, free from control, manipulation, and monitoring. That is what the struggle is about, of course it is an uphill battle when so many elites are seduced my money, power, and fame.”

Karen

There is one message from Karen’s bank, saying hat a deposit for 50,000 dollars was placed into her account by the UNJE. The second message is from Unknown. It has no subject. There is no virus on it, and it is a small message.

Kal shrugs not looking at the screen, “Its fine.”

Charlotte & James

Sami listens to Charlotte and shrugs, “I don’t know, I got lucky, I think Timothy was using his powers to shield us, but it all happened so fast, I really didn’t get a chance to register anything until I had drug them both halfway to the gym. I wasn’t really looking at how I got through it all, just get them to safety.”

Charlotte gets a 15 on her Sense Motive check, he seems on the level.

He finishes his salad, “I am glad you came to eat with us. Although I am sorry it didn’t turn out to be a quiet meal. Just be happy when all this craziness is behind us, I don’t know what is going; and I really don’t want to know,” he says with a look of exasperation.

It is at that point that James and Kiyana arrive at the Cafeteria, both looking fresh from the pool.

"Out of the two of them Chaos has more to loose at the moment and thus more believable. Normally I would be very reluctant to believe what he says but he is fighting for his own existance, in his own way of course. Besides what if its Kelly he is talking about?"

She already- Telepath. Stupid, of course she knows! "So I guess you know the history," Mark began, sitting down, "I thought I was fixed, you know? Having a problem, take a swim. Even worked. Except since being here every time something happens I get the shakes and start puking and want a fix. I can even see the track marks sometimes."

Mark stuck out his arm and pointed to several spots on the inside of his forearm, all equally flawless, "Especially these. I, uh, haven't checked other places. So I did what I was supposed to do and did a lot of swimming and that got me through it. I'd want a fix, but I'd get past the craving. That's how it's supposed to work," Mark was speaking quickly now, in clipped, thin tones.

"Things started getting really bad when we were quarantined and I couldn't hit the pool. But I dealt. Then Yoshi died and things got worse. We just buried him and then he was trying to kill us and we were trying to kill him and-" Shaking his head, Mark slowed down before his words came too fast to understand.

"I wanted a fix. Star came and wanted to help me out. I think I told her I had some cravings. This was right before we got called out to fight Yoshi. Or she figured it out or something. I don't remember right now. We took off and did that and afterwards... I didn't do so good and I asked Star to hook me up. I told her I needed it and gave her money, told her where to go. I thought I'd get recognized. I mean I didn't need a lot. Just like one or two lines, a spike or two, maybe even just a lot of pot. I'm flexible."

"I guess she told Anika or something and decided not to do it. She came back to tell me and, uh, well Star has a thing for me. So I tried to, uh, offer her a trade."
Mark stared at the floor, hating himself. "She left and I started puking. I need a fix. Swimming isn't going to cut it. I can't take all of this right now. I was thinking about getting it myself and nevermind what happens but Paragon paged me. After we talked he wanted to know what was bothering me and... Well, you know how it is. I mean I can lie, but to Paragon? He's perfect. How can you lie to him? He was so nice and it just came out."

"So now I'm here."

Charlotte is fairly disappointed with her theory being debunked infront of her, but at least part of her suspicion still remained. She was mostly convinced that she was wrong about Sami being something strange himself, but she thought perhaps there was still some reason the bad guys were after him. For the most part though, she trusted her instincts, and for now at least she was convinced Sami was normal and his story made sense.

"Sorry for jumping to a hasty conclusion, I think after all these surprises my mind isn't ready to go back to everything being normal just yet. It'll take some time for me to adjust to everything. I'm not convinced the pace of things will slow down soon, with that attack on Genocide going on and everything, though."

"You should stick around Anika or someone else strong, if they decide to kidnap you again for any reason."
Charlotte says, showing sincerity in her concern for Sami's safety.

She noticed James and Kiyana come in and waved slightly at them, motioning for them to come sit with her and Sami, "You guys missed everyone else, but we're still here if you want to join us." she mentions.

Karen still had a hard time to believe the UNJE would pay her that much, she'd never seen that kind of money but there it was, sitting in her bankaccount. She felt bad about taking the money, it was dirty money. She had done things she didn't agree with to earn it, but at least she wouldn't do so ever again.

"Uhm... That's weird..." she hesitates before opening the message, not sure if she should open it at all.

"Alright. Like I said, I'm willing to help."

"See, I'd think so too, but does this directly relate to Overseer? Sure, Genocide is important to him, but how is keeping him alive help in stopping Overseer? And I don't think Kelly is important, not to Chaos, I mean...wait, maybe it's Cassie. Ryan said Cassie is instramental in briniging down Overseer."
She sighs. "This is rediculous. No matter what we do, we need to have blind faith in someone. Red Witch, Chaos, whoever told Ryan about Cassie." After a long pause, she says. "Fine. I'll see what Mark says. Paragon wasn't too hot on killing him, and to be honest, I'm not really either.

"I guess we better get started, hey?"

"True, the sooner we start the better. I do have some information about summoning but I want to see what I can find here first." He scans the books and papers scattered on the floor. "This may take us a while, I hope you don't have anything important planned."

"The first thing we need to do is figure out the design for the summoning circle, of course we will need to make sure that the demon can not cross the boundry..."

ooc: Gilden is going into research mode. Creating a spell to summon one of Red Witch's demons as well compelling it to give us the information that we want.

"I don't think the few Elites that there are should be calling the shots in all the different countries. Having relatively few people calling the shots for everyone is a bad thing, and expecting governments to just give up control to Elites isn't very realistic. If we make a place for ourselves its not us imposing our will over others just because we are stronger, it would be us as the majority deciding things for ourselves. Nothing is going to happen overnight at least as far as changing people's minds, either they'll accept us or they wont. Eventually there will be so many of us that we will be the majority everywhere with what Tommy said, but for now having a place free from people that don't like us is a good step." Kelly says defensively, not quite liking what he had said about Elites being seduced by money and fame, and how that would reflect on her family.

Kelly shifts from foot to foot uncomfortably for awhile at being alone with Bishop and the turn the conversation had taken. "I wonder what they had to talk about that was such a big deal? I mean, its not like they don't already know each other... actually mom said something kinda weird, she said Tommy and Erica are older then me, but Tommy's only 15 right at least thats what everyone says, youngest CEO and all that?" she asks, looking at the door they had gone through.

He paused, looking at the guitar, "Normal? I guess thats something that I havent had much of since my powers bloomed. I mean, things were ok back when I was like ten to twelve. I was able to get hands on, and I was judged just for my skills and abilities. But since they found out I was Elite ... they started judging me for the fact I was Elite. It doesnt change who I am, or what I am, just what I can do."

He smiled, "But ... you gave me a great idea. How many students on campus have any artistic skills, musical or otherwise? There must have been a lot of damage done, and I'm sure that the people could use both some encouragement, as well as additional funding to help get back on track."

He continued, not giving her a chance to interrupt, "I'm thinking something like a charity performance. A display of the arts, singing, musical instruments, the works. No Elite powers to be used, that'd be the important thing. Also, to avoid problems, I'd prefer Elites that arent well known publicly, or ones who'd stand out. No need to draw unwanted attention. Setting this up would be problematic though, as I havent a clue what would go into this. Any idea who'd know more about setting something like this up?"

His mind was busy stirring with ideas, but he wasnt sure how to manage such an undertaking.
