Generic term for supernatural Power Points?

The title should make it more-or-less obvious: I'm lookng for good terms to use for non-psionic-themed Power Points. Anyone willing to give any suggestions? (With one stipulation, though--you agree to let me use it in a future publication, since I'm aiming for an ENWorld minigame, which, if it actually happens, would probably use the term.)

"Mana" seems to be the most common term used although I always liked Gary's Dangerous Journey's use of "Heka".

I don't know if you'll find anything that's completely generic. I've seen "Mojo" suggested. "Paradox" might work in specific theories of magic.

magic points? unless you actually call them 'generic supernatural power points', it's hard to get more unspecific than that.

Alternity and d20 Modern both use the term "FX" for generic supernatural ability. I'd recommend "FX Points".

Much of the RL psionic and magical community uses the term "juice" as a slang term for both energy reserves and overall power. This may seem too modern and/or informal for your game, depending on the setting.

"Mana", "ki", and "pneuma" all draw from fantasy, mythology, and RL theology terms for supernatural effects, and all would make suitable terms. White Wolf's Mage uses the term "Arete", which has a nice exotic ring to it.

IMO, the "FX" term might work when discussing special powers in the abstract, but I don't really like it as a term as soon as you get more detailed.

Arete is not an "energy" stat in the way I think the original poster meant. It's more a "success" stat. The closest thing to an energy stat in Mage is Quintessence, although that's used more to boost things rather than power them in the first place.

And now I just got to think of Exalted, which uses Essence as its energy stat (*and* power stat).

Lode

You can have supernatural lodestones that can store the points... and you can shoot your lode. :uhoh:

Edit: Just noticed...

since I'm aiming for an ENWorld minigame, which, if it actually happens, would probably use the term.

In that case can I suggest

"Post Count"

or is that going to be used to experience points? :)

I would hope so. It would be a very weird word to use for energy. :\ Arete is Greek for "excellence" or "virtue" or possibly "pwnage."
