Geo-Hex

First Post
Does anyone own a set of the Geo-Hex Gamescape Terrain? I was thinking about throwing some money at it but wanted to check with others who might have it already since the pictures on the website arn't very discriptive.

Thanks

heh heh Well, of course Google is my friend. I guess I was just trying to point out, in a friendly way, that adding any pertinent links can be very helpful when asking people for advice on a subject. (No offense, Velik. :) )

Mark, you know who sells it. :D

I know all too well, oh Keeper (in stock) of All Things Gaming! :D

I own both a gamescape mat and terrain, but I use it for miniature wargaming where it really adds to visuals of the game which are much more essential than in RPGs. I don't know what you would get out of it for RPGs if that is your intention.

Agreed. This stuff is great for miniatures battles, but for D&D would be of limited use. Unless you get the Battlescape terrain, which has 1 1/2" hexes printed on it. Even then, rolling terrain rarely figures into D&D combat; trees and rocks to hide behind seem more important.

Well I like to use miniatures/scenery for atmosphere. I really don't need it in tactical sense just as background so to speak. My other hobby besides RPGs is making terrain and painting minis. I was looking for something to act as a quick/decent looking ground that I could add the terrain items I have made to it. I could probaly make much better hills/ground but dont want to spend alot of time when I could buy something decent. Soooo....is the quality, the look, price worth it?

Thanks for the responses.

The terrain looks pretty cool. The slopes are gradual enough to place minis on them with no problem. For places where gradual is not appropriate, use either the "Rough Terrain" or the "Mountain Scape" sets.
Geo-Hex is made from styrofoam, painted and then flocked in either green or desert-tan. The Cavern-Scape is always gray, and imprinted with a distorted hex pattern that resembles irregular stones.
